HomeMy WebLinkAbout08/26/19194"74 On motion of H.B. Kirtland seconded by John uhapek the meeting adjourned. Approved thi9 day of 1919. City Clerk. City Hall, Tuesday, August 26th. 1919 - 7 :30 P.L. City Council met in special called session for the purpose of Fixing the Tax Levy for the year 1919 -1920 and for the purpose of transacting such other business as might properly come before it. The Budgets for the Public Library and the City Schools were presented and read and representatives of the respective institutions were present to discuss with the Council the amounts needed for the maintenance of the respective institutions for the fiscal year. It was moved by H.A. Gorman and seconded by H.B. Kirtland that Schools be given .85 in the Tax Levy. James Piper moved an amendment to the motion by substituting .78 for School rate. The amendment was seconded by John Chapek and upon roll call the amendment carried by the following vote :. Ayes: James Piper, John Chapek , L.F. Sinsheimer. Noes : H.B. Kirtland, H.A. Gorman: Absent : None. It was moved by H.B. Kirtland and seconded by John Chapek that .02 per one hundred also valuation„be allowed Schools for the purchase of certain lots to the rear of the High School Building. The motion carried and it was so ordered by the following vote: Ayes :H.B. Xirtland, H.A. Govfman, James Piper, John Chapek, L.F. Sinsheimer. Noes: None. Absent: None. On motion of H.B. Yirtland seconded by James Piper the meeting adjourned to Wednesday, August 27th at 7 :30 Pyres --'. Ayes : H.B. Kirtland, H.A. Gorman, James Piper , John Chapek, L.F. Sinsheimer. Noes : None.
