to connect with the City Sewer:
Julius A. Leitner Fig Street between Morro and Osos St.
Leah Streeter Sycamore St between Osos and Santa Roas St.
Thos. 0. Campbell Alphonso St.
The reports of the City Clerk, City Treasurer and.Pound Master for the month of
August -mere received and ordered filed on motion of H.B. Kirtland seconded by James Piper..
On motion of H.B. Kirtland seconded by John Chapek the petition of G.S. Newell, -
requesting that his interest in the Retail Liquor business of Stearns & Newell be transferred
to P.W. Stearns, was ordered placed on file.
The application of Tony Chiesa and John Canaris for license for Restaurant at
699 Higuera Street, was referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for
investigation and report.
The bond of Joe Ghigliotti as Fire Chief was received and approved.on motion of
H.A. Gowman seconded by 0-ohn Chapek.
The application of the Womans Civic Club for license for Lodging House was granted
on motion of H.A. Gowman seconded by James Piper.
On account of the protest of adjoining property owners the application of the
Home Laundry Company for license for Laundry was laid over for one week for further
investigation by the Commissioner of Public Health and.Safety.
Commissioner Chapek reported adversely on the petition requesting that a suitable
sewer line and a water main be laid on Chigrch Street between Osos and Santa Rosa St.
The applications for the regular quarterly licenses were received and referred to
the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for investigation and report , on motion
of H.B. Kirtland seconded by John Chapek.
On motion of James Piper seconded by H.B. Kirtland the labor bills were ordered paid.
It was moved by John Chapek and.seconded` by James Piper that Warren B. Burch be
mporarily.appointed Street Superintendent to serve at the pleasure of the Council and
without compensation. The motion carried by the following vote:
Ayes H.E. Kirtland, H.A. Gowman, James Piper, John Chapek, L.F. Sinsheimer.
Noes: None. Absent : None.
On motion of James Piper seconded by John Chapek the meeting adjourned to Monday,
September 22d . at 7 :30 P.M.
