City Council met in special called session for the purpose of transacting . such busineee-as might properly come before it: L.F. Sinsheimer presided. Present ,_H.B. Kirtland, H.A. Gowman, James Piper, John Chapek, L.F. Sinsheimer. Absent , None: A communication from the Board of Engineers for Rivers and Harbors was ordered placed on file on motion of H.A. Gowman seconded by John Chapek. A communication was received from Mike Chutuk, in which it was requested that the time for_the completion of the Storm Sewer Contract be extended for a perion of thirty ( 30 ) days. It was moved by James•Piper and seconded by John Chapek that the request be granted. The motion was carried by the following vote. Ayes : 'H.B. Kirtland, H.A. Gowman, James Piper, John Chapek, L.F. Sinsheimer. Noes: None. Absent: None. The following applications for permit to build were ordered granted on motion of l -`� H.A. Gowman seconded by James Piper, C.J. Harriman - Lots 1 &? Block 6 Weills Addn Remodeling Cost 350.00 Lenore B. Gale- Lot 1 & 2 Block 5 Buena Vista Addn. Garage Cost 100.'0 O T.A. Greenleaf - Bloek 97 Garage Cost $ 35.00 On motion of John Chapek seconded by H.A. Gowman the application of Juanita Lopez for sewer connection on Santa Rosa Street between Fig and Olive Street was granted. The applications of Martin Bosnyak and Joe Womack for license for Taxicab and Garage respectively were referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety, on motion of H.A. Gowman seconded by John Chapek. The application of Tony Chiesa and John Canaris for license for Restaurant was granted on motion dd H.A. Gowman seconded by John Chapek. On motion of H.A. Gowman seconded by H.B. Kirtland the applications for the regular quarterly licenses were ordered granted. It was moved by H.A. Gowman and seconded by James Piper that the applications for the liquor licenses be received and placed on file. The matter of the application of the Home Laundry Company for license for �c laundry was taken up. Mr. C.W. Tubbs was present and discussed the matter with the Board. It was moved by H.A. Gowman and seconded by H.B. Kirtland that the application be granted. James Piper moved to amend the motion by laying the matter over to the next meeting. The amendment receiving no second was declared lost. The original motion was then put, the vote resulting as follows : Ayes : H.B. Kirtland, H.A. Gowman. Noes : John Chapek, L.F. Sinsheimer. James Piper declined to vote. There being no majority of votes cast either for or against the proposition , it was ruled by the Mayor that the matter be taken up at the next meeting.
