HomeMy WebLinkAbout11/03/19191 City Hall, Monday , Nov. 3rd. 1919- 7.30 P.M. Council met in regular session, Mayor L.F. Sinsheimer presiding. Present, H.B. Kirtland, James Piper, John Chapek, L.F.. Sinsheimer. Absent , H.A. Gowman. The minutes of October 20th and 27th were read and on motion of James Piper seconded by john Cha_rek were approved as read. A communication was received from the Executive Committee Welcome Home Day extending an invitation to the Council to participate in the parade, on Armistice Day, Nov.11th. The Clerk was directed to notify the said Committee that the invitation was accepted. A communicatiom.was received from the City Board of Education requesting that the following amounts be transferred from the High School Fund.: 3,000.00 to the Common School Fund 1,000.00 to the Kindergarten Fund. On moti,_n of H.B. Kirtland 'seconded by John Chapek the transfer was ordered in accordance with the above request. The following applications for permit to build were ordered granted on motion-of John Chapek seconded by James Piper. James J, Maino- Lot 1 Block 33 Residence Cost $ 2000:00 The applications of Nick Nicoloneus and Geor ge Economos for license for Restaurants were referred to Commissioner Gowman for investig. -Ition and report. The petitions of E.L. Mathevis and Gus Stocklausen for permitd to place signs at the U.S. Coffee Store an&i.the Mission Shoe Shop respectively,were referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety on motion of H.B. Kirtland seconded by James Piper. On motion of H.B. Kirtland seconde by James Piper the petition of the Midland C,o. Pub. Service Porpn. for permit to place a pole on.Pacific Street between Morro and Chorro Street was referred to the Commissioner of Public Works for investigation and report. On motion of James Piper seconded by John Chapek the reports of the City Collector and Police Judge for the month of October were received and and ordered filed. The City Collector presented the following list of licenses for cancellation: 95 510 523 5 57 Mission Garage F. Bruno R. Rosen G. Hansen F. Serra C.F. Cavaliin Auto Agcy 5.00 Peanuts & Popcorn 1.50 Peddler Veg& Fruit 5.00 Ta xicab 3.00 Soft Drinks 1.50 Soft Drinks -1.50 $ 1(•50 On motion of John Chapek seconded by James Piper the matter was referred to Commissioner of Finance and Revenue for investigation and report. Action on the application of the Home Laundry Co., for license for Laundry and on the petitions of Austins Confectionery and Rosa & Bosnyak for signs, was deferred to the next meeting. ' The matter of consideration of Telephone franchise left over.to next regular meeting. Claims against the City for the month of October were ordered paid on motion of James Piper seconded by H.B.
