The minutes,-of Nov. 3d and 10th. were read and approved as read on motion of
James Piper seconded by John Chapek.
The following applications for permit to build were ordered granted on
motion of John Chapek seconded by Jane s Piper:

On motion of H.B. Kirtland seconded by James Piper the application of
James J, Maino for permit to remove a building from Lot 1 Block 27 to Lot 5 Block 29,
was referred to the Commissioner of Public works with power to act.
The petition of H. Hathaway for permit to remove a building from Lot 11 to
Lot 14 Block 1 Hathaway Addition was granted on motion of H.A. Gowman seconded
by John Chapek.
On motion of James Piper seconded by John Chapek the following applications
for Sewer connections were ordered granted:
R. Caudill- Alexander St. between Victoria and Broad Sts.
L. Isola - Chorro St. " Palm and Mill Sts.
A. Fonseca - Essex St. " Pacific and Pismo Sts.
Lily Bouldin- Marsh St. " Toro and Essex Sts.

It was moved by John..Chapek and seconded by H.A. Gowman that the application
of the'Santa Maria Gas & Po-,7er Co.,for permit to open ditches on Leff St. between
Morro and Chorro St. and on Broad St. between Marsh and Higuera Sts. , be granted.
The motion carried and it was so ordered.

The labor bills were ordered paid on motion of John Chapek seconded by
James Piper.

TLe petition of Yaggie IG. Davis for transfer of Lodging House license to
Minnie Ernst was referred to Commissioner Gowman for investigation and
report on
motion of H.B. Kirtland seconded by John Chapek.
The petitions of Rosa & Bosnyak, Laurence Austin, Gus Stocklausen and the
U.S. Coffee Store for permits to place signs at their respective places of business,
were granted on motion of H.A. Gowman seconded by H.B. Kirtland.
The applications of Nick Nicoloneus and George Economas for license for
Restaurants were ordered granted on motion of H.A. Gowman seconded by James Piper.
The matter of the cancellation of certain busines licenses was left over
to the'next meeting.
The petition of the Midland Co. Public Service Cor'pn., for permit to
place a pole on Pacific Street between Morro and Chorro Street was again laid over
,
as was also the application of the Home Laundry Co. for license,-for Laundry.
On motion of H.B. Kirtland seconded by John Chapek ( Resolution No. 123 N.S.

relative to the erection of Speed Limit signs was adopted by the following vota.:
Ayes : H.B. Kirtland, H.A. Gowman, James Piper, John Chapek, L.F. Sinsheimer.
Noes : None. Absent None.
Resolution No. 124 ( New Series ) relative to the Telephone Franchise
was before the Council.
It was moved by H.B. Kirtland and seconded by H.A. Gowman that the same
be adopted and passed to print.
L.F. Sinsheimer moved he following amendment :. " To include in the
Resolution and Franchise a Section, whereby the City of Sa-i Luis Obispo would have
the right and power to take over and operate the Telephone Company within the
City of San Luis Obispo, whenever the Telephone Company for any reason is:l unable
to give complete service within the City , and that the City Attorney be instructed
to properly_ -draw and insert such provision both in the Resolution and Franchise."
The amendment was seconded by James Piper and upon roll call was carried by the
following vote:
Ayes : H.A. Gowman, James Piper, John Chapek, L.F..Sinsheimer.
Does: H.B. Kirtland. Absent None.
The original motion as amended was then put the vote on same resulting
as follows:
Ayes : H.B. Kirtland, H.A. Gowman, James Piper, John Chapek, L.F. Sinsheimer.
Noes : hone.
Absent : None.

James Piper.
