City Hall, Thursday, February 26th. 1920 — 7:30 P.M-
City Council met in adjourned session , Mayor L.F. Sinsheimer presiding .
Present James Piper , John Chapek , L.F. Sinsheimer.
Absent : H.B. Kirtland , H.A. Gowman.
On motion of John Chapek seconded by James Piper the application of Ben Magdalena
for permit to build a residence in Block 56 at a Cost of 6 3000.00 -was granted.
Gus Stocklausen filed application for permdt for remodeling portion of building
in Block 17.
It was moved by James Piper that the application be referred to the Commissioner
of Public I,orks. The Mayor ruled the motion out of order.
It was moved by James Piper and seconded by John Chapek that the said application
be Deferred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety and the Commissioner. of
Public forks for investigation and report. The motion carried.
The petition of Gus Stocklausen for permit to remove a sign from the Mission
Shoe Shop to new location on Morro Street ( rear of George Bros Store) was referred to
the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for investigation.
The application of F:L. Garrett for permit to lay 100 feet of full width
sidewalk on the North side of Pismo Street bet•,,ieen Santa Rosa and Toro Street , Lot 5&6
Block 201 A , was ordered granted on motion of John Chapek seconded by James Piper.
On motion of John Chapek seconded by James Piper the meeting adjourned to
Friday February 27th. at 5 o'clock P.M.

City Council met in adjourned session. Mayor L.F. Sinsheimer presiding.
Present ; H.E. Kirtland, H.A. Gorman -, James Piper , John Chapek , L.F. Sinsheimer.
Absent : None.
It was moved by H.A. Gowman and seconded by John Chapek that the application
of Gus Stocklausen for permit to.remodel building in Block 17, also ,request for permit
for removal of sign be granted. The motion carried.
Mayor Sinsheimer brought up the matter of retrenchment in City expenditures—
suggesting that the Police force be lessened by two; that the contributions to the 1
San Luis Obispo Band, Womans Civic Club and Chamber of Commerce be discontinued and that
the salary of the Police Judge be reduced from $ 50.00 to $ 25.00 per month.
