Kilbern , James Piper , L.F. Sinsheimer. Absent : None. The minutes of October 3d,lOth: and 11th were read and approved as read on motion of James Piper seconded by W.B. Martin. The following applications for permit to build were granted on motion of W.B.Martin seconded by H.A. Gasman : James Danford -- Garage Lot 6 Block 108 Coat $ 70.00 Steve Zegar -- Residence Block 37 " 3450.00 Robertino Righetti -- Residence. Block 31 3000.00 W.M. Fisk -_- Residence Block 17 Central Addn " 000.00 Pedro Marquez Garage Block 15 " 30.00 11 Mark Evans -- Garage Block 135 " 60.00 Mrs. Rufina G. Herrera Residence Block 41 " 4500.00 .W.J. Smith.. -- .Garage and Warehouse Block 29 " 1200.00 Application of W.O. Tudor for permit�to lay 140.16ft. 5 foot park sidewalk on the North side of Toro _Street between Pismo and Buchon Street granted on motion ..duly seconded and carried. Application of John Ghigliotti for permit for 50 feet sidewalk and curbing on the east side of Santa Rosa Street between Mill and Peach Street granted on motion of James Piper seconded by W.B. Martin with the understanding that the contractor , A. Minoli, take a license for contracting. The following applications for permit to connect with the City Sewer were granted on motion of H.A.Gowman seconded by W.B. Martin Francis W. Reid -- Monterey Street between Toro and Essex Street. Henry C. Tartaglia -- N. Broad Street between Peach and Sycamore Street. John C. Gibson -- Hi7usra Street between Santa Rosa.and Osos Street. The following applications of the Midland Counties Public Service Corporation r ( Nos . 15- 19- 20 -21 -22 ) for permit to remove and reset poles,_anohors etc.,were received and on motion of H.A. Gowman seconded by James Piper , were referred to the Commissioner of Public Works. On motion of James--'Piper seconded by H.A. Gowman the report of the Police Judge for the month of September was received and ordered filed. The application of Chas.R. Schenck for appointment to the office of Supt.of Streets was received and ordered placed on file on motion of James Piper seconded by Geo. W. Kilbern; Notice of State Department of Public Works Division of Water Rights, relative to application No. 2170 of the California Polytechnie School for certain Water Rights of QStenner Creek, read and ordered filed on motion of Geo. W. Kilbern seconded by W.B. Martin. A petition was received from property owners requesting that Pismo Street between Osos and Moro Street be graded to the official grade and graveled,T"'.:: .zThe said�.petition was referred to the Commissioner of Public Works with power to act, an motion of James Piper seconded by W.B. Martin. The petition relative tO the grading and graveling of Ida Street between Drill and Peach Street was referred to the Commissioner of Public Works and the City Engineer for investigation and report to the Council. Communication of Long Beach Chamber of Commerce read and ordered filed on motion of James Piper seconded by W.B. Martin. Labor bills were ordered paid on motion of James Piper seconded by Geo. W. Kilbern. The application of Ida Rose for license for lodging house at corner of Moro and Higuera Streets granted on motion of H.A. Gowman seconded by Goe. W. Kilbern.
