ordered filed on motion of James Piper seconded by W.B. Martin.
Applications for the regular quarterly licenses were granted on motion of
W.B. Martin seconded by James-Piper.
In re petition of Eliza Hampton protesting against the erection of Garage
on Lot 4 Block 119 Reeds Addn: It was moved-by Geo. W. Kilbern and seconded by =
James Piper-that the matter.be laid over to the next meeting and that John C. Veielra
be notified to appear before.this Council and show cause why the said Garage was erected
without permit . -lotion carried.
Application of Mrs. W.W. Harrison for license for Boarding House at 1057
Buchon Stre -t granted on motion of James Piper seconded by W.B. Martin.
The petition of Mary J. Gnesa for transfer of license for Hotel and Soft
Drinks at 995 Higuera Street to Joe Caporgno and Guida Biaggini granted on motion of
Geo. W. Kilbern seconded by James Piper.
On motion of Geo. W. Kilbern seconded by W.B. Martin the petition of the
Golden State Cafe for permit to place an electric Sign was granted .
Application # 42 of the Midland Counties Public Service Corporation-for
permit to rebuild lines on Cypress , Price and Harris Streets between Sandsrcock and
Branch Streets , was granted on motion of Geo. W. Kilbern seconded by W.B. Martin.
Matter of the extension of the Fire Proof Building Limits laid over to the
next meeting.
On ktotion of James Piper seconded by Geo. W. Kilbern the meeting adjourned to
Monday, March 27th at 7:30 P.-d.

On motion of James Piper seconded by Geo. W. Kilbern Geneva Naylor was
granted permit to lay 5 ft park sidewalk and curbing on Ruth, Upham and George Ste.
A petition was received from property owners requesting the paving of
Chorro Street between Higuers, and Marsh Street.. The matter was referred , on motion
of H.A. Gowman seconded by W.B. Martin, to the City Engineer and the Commissioner of
Public Works with power to act.
The applications of W.H. Johnson for license for Cigar Store and Soft Drinks
were referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for investigation and
report on motion of James Piper seconded by W.B. Martin.
On motion of Geo. W. Kilbern seconded by James Piper the following applica-
ions for permit to connect with the City Sewer were granted :
W.J. Smith - Santa Rosa Street between Marsh and Higuera-Street.
E.W. Lawrence - Santa Rosa Street _between Marsh and Higuera Street.
W.T. Reid - Santa Rosa Street between Monterey Street and Higuera Street.
San Luis Obispo School District - Beach St. between Pacific and Pismo St.
Branch Street between Story and Ward Street,
On motion of GeprW. Kilbern seconded b,r H.A. Gowman the Santa Maria Gas
Company wet& permitted to repair Gas Mains on Palm Street between Toro and.Johnson.Ste
The application of the Standard 011 Company for permit to erect a Ladies Rist
Room at the Service Station in Block 24 was ganted on motion of H.A. Gowman seconded by
W.B. Martin. The Commissioner of Public Health and Safety was requested to take the
matter up with the Standard Oil Company to ascertain if the said Company would,ndt erect
a Fire Proof structure in lieu of the one planned.
The application of S. Zegar and W.S. Reed for license for Cigars Sideline
at 1o13 Chorro Street was granted.on motion of H.A.Gorman seconded by JamessPiper.
Herrera Bros. were granted license for a Boxing and Wrestling Exhibition
at the E1 Monterey Theatre on March 29th, on motion of H.A. Gowman secdnded by James Pipe.

On motion of H.A. Gowman seconded by W.B. Martin, Ordinance # 96 ( New
Series ) , An Ordinance amending Ordinance # 45 , an ordinance establishing Fire Proof
Building Limits and prescribing Building Regulations , was introduced and passed to print
by the following vdte :
Ayes : W.B. Martin , H.A. Gowman , JamesPiper , L.F. Sinsheimer .
Noes : Goe. W. Kilbern.
Absent : None.
In re Matter of renaming the extension of Peach Street : Same to rest
for opinion of the City Attorney.
On motion of H.A. Gorman seconded by Geo. W. Kilbern the Commissioner of
Supplies was authorized to purchase 2 fire Hydrants, same to be installed at marsh and
Moro and Marsh and Chorro Streets respectively.
On motion of W. B. Martin seconded by H.A. Gorman the City Board of
Education were granted the use of the Street Roller to be used.in putting the High Sc
Athletic Grounds in proper condition.
On motion of H.A. Gowman seconded by Geo. W. Kilbern the meeting adjourned .
