W, Kilbern the following applications for permit to lay side:valk and curbing were granted : P.H..Rowan - 77 ft. 6 ft park sidewalk and curbing on the south side of Islay Street between Santa Rosa and Toro Street. Steve Zegar - Retaining Wall 63 ft. on the West side Essex Street between Monterey and _.. Palm Street and 50 ft..on the North side of Monterey Street between Essex and Toro Street. The application of S.V. Wright for permit to lay 200 ft. of 24" sidewalk along curb of regulation width showing 10" above gutter - Gutter to be 36 inches or double width. work to be done on the West side Essex Street between Monterey and Palm Street. On motion of James Piper seconded by H.A. Gowman the matter was refereed to the Commissione jDA Public Works and theeCity Engineer for investigation and report. The report of the Police Judge for the month of May was received and orde filed on motion of James Piper seconded by Geo. W. Kilbern. The report of the City Clerk for the month of May was received and ordered filed on motion of E.B. Martin seconded by James Piper. The petition of property owners for the improvement of Story Street between Branch and Sandercock Street was ordered filed. On motion of H.A. Gowman seconded by Geo. W. Kilbern the petition of the Globe Transfer Company for permit to place a sign at 1125 Broad Street was laid on the Ta pending the amending of the Ordinance relative to the placing of Signs and awnings. The Santa Maria Gas Company were permitted to open trench on Santa Rosa Street between Monterey and Palm Street for the purpose of installing Gas service , on motion of Geo. W. Kilbern seconded by W.B. Martin. The following sewer connections were granted-.on motion of James Piper seconded by Geo. W. Kilbern : T.A. Greenleaf - Marsh Street between Chorro and Morro Street. A. W. Kilbern seconded by Y.B. Martin. The petition of E.R. Kaiser for transfer of his interest in the firm of Kaiser and Brassill to M.J. Brassill was referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and 6afety for report , on motion of W.B. Martin seconded by James Piper , as was also the petition of Paul Sada for transfer of his interest in the firm of Martin and Sada, to Ed Martin. On motion of E.B. Martin seconded by Geo. W. Kilbern the merchandising Bond of Peter J. Soto in the amount of $ 200.00 (`- .Surety Louisa Gingg ) was accepted-and ordered filed.. The request of Harry D. Rhodes for transfer of contractors license issued to R.A. Rhodes, deceased, to the petitioner was granted on motion ;:'.bf James Piper seconded by Geo. W. Gowman , that the sum of $ 700.00 be transferred from the Kindergarten School Fund to the Elementary School Fund. Applications for the regular quarterly licenses were received and referred to the Conanissioner of Public Health and Safety for report on motion of Geo.W.Kilb seconded by James Pipers The petition of Fred D. Chiesa for transfer of license for Restaurant at 553 Monterey Street to Waldo Chiesa and Paul Sada was granted on motion of H.A. Gagman seconded by James Piper. On motion of H.A. Gorman seconded by Geo. W. Kilbern , Geo. E. Day was granted license for Taxicab. On behalf of the Fourth -of July Committee , Ed. N. Kaiser and A.D. Wal appeared and requested permission to close South Street at both entrances,.also Woodbridge Street and F.unston Ave., on the afternoon of the Fourth of July in order to enable them to collect admissions to Exposition Park. The request was granted. On motion of H.A. Gowman seconded by James Piper , M.J. Brassill and Harry True were granted permit to hold a Barbecue on the premises of J.L. Anderson at the corner of Monterey and Morro Streets on July Fourth. It•was decided that only small fireworks ;could be permitted on the Fourt of July with the exception of the General display at Exposition Park. Upon petition of Lawrence Austin and L.Ireland it was decided to restric concessions , such as soft drinks etc., on the public Streets of the CitS;,so far as legally allowed, ,during the Fourth of July celebration. Relative to the petition of Margaret Kohler for Sewer on Beach Street- matter laid over for investigation. W.T. Reid appeared relative to the matter of culvert on Santa Roas Street between Monterey and Higuera Street. action was postponed until next meeting. all data in connection therewith. On motion of H.A. Gowman seconded by Geo. W.•Kilbe The City Engineer to be instructed to furnish Resolution No. 139 ( New Series ) A Resolution creating a Bonded Indebt- ednedd., providing for the issuance and sale of Bonds, management of the Funds and making provision for assessing, levying and collecting Taxes for the redemption of such Bonds and Interest Coupons - was introduced and passed on motion of H.A. Gowman seconded by W.B. Martin by the following vote: Ayes : W.B. Martin , H.A. Gowman , Geo. W.Kilbern , James Piper , L.F. Sinsheimer. Noes : None. Absent : None. On motion of H.A. Gowman seconded-by W.B. Martin the City Clerk was directed to advertise for bids for the sale of $ 65,500 City of San Luis Obispo Improve- ment Bonds. Bids to be received up to and including 5aturday,July 1st 1922 at 10 o1cloc A.M., of said day. Certified check for % of the amount of the bid, payable to the " Treasurer of the City of San Luis Obispo p , must ac0cmpany each bid. The Council reserves the right to reject any and all bids. After discussion as to whether the•Bonds should be printed or lithographed, it was moved by W.B. Martin and seconded by H.A. Ga-vman and carried that the same be printed. On motion of W.B.
