City Fall, Thursday,June 22d 1922 - 5 o'clock P.M.
City Council met in special session - Mayor L.F. Sinsheimer presiding.
Present : W.B..Martin, Geo. W. Kilbern, James Piper , L.F. Sinsheimer.
Absent : H.A. Gowman.
It was moved by James Piper and seconded by W.B. Martin that the action of
the City Council instructing the City Clerk to advertise for bids for the sale of $ 681500
City of San Luis Obispo Improvement Bonds, to be opened Saturday,July lat. 1922 , at 10
o'clock A.M., be reeinded, and the City Clerk was directed to advertise for bids on these
Bonds to be opened Wednesday, July 5th 1922 at 7:30 P.M.
On motion of W.B. Martin seconded by James Piper the meeting adjourned.

City Council met in adjourned session - Mayor L.F. Sinsheimer presiding.
Present : H.A. Gowman , Geo. W. Kilbern, James Piper, L.F. Sinsheimer.
Absent W.B. Martin.
On motion of JamesPiper seconded by H.A. Gowman the following applicati
for permit to build were granted
G.W. Baker - Real Estate Office - Lot D Block G Linda Vista Addn Cost 100.00
Wm.C..O'Donnell - Residence Lot 10.Brizzolara Addn if 3,000.00
The application of M.J. Brassill for license for Soft Drinks was referred
to Commissioner Gowman for investigation and report on motion of James Piper seconded by
H.A. Gowman.
On motion of H.A. Gowman seconded by James Piper the application of the
Yeomans Civic Club for permit to install a motion picture Booth at the Womans Civic Club
House was granted , with the provision that the same be ecnatructed in accordance with the
specifications as set forth in Ordinance No. 28 ( New Series ) , regulating the installat-
ion of motion picture machines.
City Engineer W.B. Burch reported that it was possible to lower the:
grade of the flow line of the 81x4' concrete culvert on Santa Rosa Street between Monterey
and Higuera Street ; giving an estimated cost of $ 400.00.
After discussion it
was moved by H.A. Gowman and seconded by James Piper that the City pay one half of
James Pipers estimated cost ( Mr. Piper's estimate $ 250.00 ) The motion was lost.
A communication was received from the Fourth of July Executive Committee
extending an invitation to the Council to participate in the Parade to be held in this City
July 4th. The same was ordered filed and.acknowledged with thanks.
The request of the 4th of July Committee for permit to place Banners
across the Streets at Higuera and Nipomo Streets and Monterey and Santa.Roaa Streets was
granted on motion of James Piper seconded by H.A. Gowman,as was also the request of the
4th of July Becorating.Committee for permit to string incandescent lights etc,over Monterey
Chorro and Higuera Sts.

The petition of the Midland Counties Public Service Corporation # 53
for permit to set 4•poles and install 4 anchors on Breck Street between Johnson and Toro St,
was referred to the Commissioner of Public Works for eeport.
On motion of James Piper seconded by H.A..Gowman - the report of the City
Treasurer for the month of May was received and ordered filed.
The petitions of L.H. Bowles for transfer of contractors license to
Bowles & Bowles ; that of J.M.Sdhulz for transfer of contractors license to J.M. Schulz and
Everett Weant, were referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for report.
Applications for the regular quarterly licenses were granted on motion
H.A.OGowman seconded by James Piper.
Petition of Paul Bads, for transfer of his interest in firm of Martin
and Sada to Ed Martin , granted on motion of H.A..Gowman seconded by JamesPiper.
Petition of E.R. Raiser for transfer of his interest in the firm of
(Kaiser & Brassill to M.J. Brassill granted on motion of H.A. Gamman seconded by James Piper.

On motion of James Piper seconded by H.A. Gowman and carried the above
bids were taken under advisement until Tuesday June 27th at 7:30 P.M.
The protest of Mrs. Queenie warden, on behalf of the Woma.ns Civic Club,
against the payment of license for rooms at the Womans Civic Club House was taken under
advisement on motion of James Piper seconded by H.A. Go:Rman.
The application of the American Legion Post No 66 for permit to hold a
" Legion Frolic a July 17th to 21st was referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and
Safety for investigation and report on motion of H.A. Gasman seconded by James Piper.
