Martin seconded by James Piper by the following vote : Ayes : W.B. Martin , Geo. W..&ilbern , James- Piper :;. L,J.. Sinsheimer. Noes None. Absent : H.A. Gowman. On motion of James Piper seconded by Geo. W. Kilbern the City Clerk was directed to advertise for bids for the construction of Villa Street Bridge. Bids to be received up to 7:30 o'clock P.I. Monday, August 14th., then to be publicly opened and read. Communication of E.M. Merrifield ordered filed on motion of James Piper seconded by W.B. Martin. The application of the American Legion for permit to hold a " Legion Frolic " was rejected on motion of James Piper seconded by Geo. W. Kilbern. On motion of W.B. Martin seconded by James Piper the meeting adjourned to Thursday, August 27th. at 7:30 P -M- Ayes : W.L. !uartin , Geo. W. Kilberr., James Piper , L.F. Sinsheimer. Noes : None. Absent H.S. Gowman. Howell for permit to lay 42 ft, full width sidewalk and curbing on tbe:east side Garden Street between Pacific and Pismo Street grant on motion of Geo. W. Kilbern seconded by James Piper. On motion of James Piper seconded by Geo. W. Kilbern the following :.•. applications for Serer connections were granted: M. Lewin - Marsh Street between Osos and Santa Rosa Street. Mrs. Virl Weston - Ella Street between Essex and Johnson Strut. On motion of James Piper seconded by Geo. W. Kilbera the petition of Joseph Wilson for permit to place an Electric Sign at 964 Monterey Street was referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for report.
