City Council met in regular session - Mayor L.F. Sinsheimer presiding.

The minutes of Sept. 5th.and 11th were.read and approved as read on motion
of James Piper seconded by W.B. Martin.
The following applications for permit to build were granted on motion of
James Piper seconded by Geo. W. Kilbern:

On.motion of H.A. Gowman seconded by W.B. Martin the application of .
A.F. Lindberry for permit to erect a garage on wly 113 of lot 2 Block 55 was granted with
the provision that the said building be set back 50 ft from-the property line.
The application of J.F. Traver for permit to build a garage on Lot 4 Block
2 Mc Brides Tract , at a cost of $ 60.00 , same to be placed 25 ft from property line ,
was referred to the Commissioner of Public Works for investigation and report on motion
of James Piper seconded by H.A. Gowman.
Application of Samuel Terra for permit to build a garage on lot 11 Block
61 at a cost of $ 50.00 , said building to be placed even with property line , was
referred was referred, on motion of James Piper seconded by Geo. W. Kilbern to the
Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for report.
The application of L.N. Bes6ett, for permit to remove a small building f
rear of D. Muzio property in Block 14 to Lot 14 Block 16 Central Addition, was granted
on motion of Geo. W. Kilbern seconded by James Piper.
The application of Mrs. Dora Reidy for permit to erect a garage on lots
2 & 3 Block 177 Loomis Addn at a cost of $ 75 .00 was granted on motion of James Piper
seconded by.Geo. W. Kilbern.
Application of Mrs. Dora Reidy for permit to erect a garage on lots 11 & 12
Block 177 Loomis Addn, at a cost of $ 75.00 was granted on motion of W.B. Martin seconded
by James Piper.
Application of Mrs. Dora Reidy for permit to erect an addition to a build
on lot 3 and a part of lot 4 Block 177 Loomis Addn at a cost of $ 75.00, the said struc
to be used as a garage, was granted on motion of H.A.Gowman seconded by James Piper by
the following vote:

On motion of Goo. W. Kilbern seconded: by H.A. Gowman the Santa Maria Gas Co:
were permitted to install gas mains on High Street between Harris and Price Streets.
The merchandising Bond of Thos. W...Arnold in the amount of $ 2CO.CO ,
C.A. Maino as surety, was approved on motion of H.A. Gadman seconded-by W.B. Martin.
The reports of the City Clerk and the Police Judge for the month of
August were received and ordered filed on motion of H.A. Gowman seconded by James Piper
The applications for the regular quarterly licenses were received and
referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for report on motion of
H.A. Cowman seconded by W.13. Martin.
The application of 'ors. T.A Smith for licemse for lodging house at Corner
Broad and Marsh Streets ( M.z. Banks Bldg ) was referred to the Cc mmisioner of Public
Health and Safety for report on motion or James Piper seconded by Goo. W. Kilbern.
On motion of James Piper seconded by Goo. W. Kilbern the application of
Peter J. Locati for license for lunch counter at 1504 Osos Street, was referred to the
Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for report.
'rhe applications of B.R. Bettencourt for license for Cigars Sideline and
Soft Drinks at 1026 Morro Street was referred. to Commissioner H.A. Gowman for report on
motion of Goo. W. Kilbern seconded by James Piper.
The following claims against the City were ordered paid on motion of
James Piper seconded by Goo. W. Kilbern:

On motion of H.A.Gowman seconded by Goo. W. Kilbern the application of
Mrs. A.A. Fonseca and MissElla Villa for license for lodging house at 732 Islay Street
was granted.
It was moved by W.B. Martin and seconded by James Piper that the applicatio
of the Pacific Tel & Tel Co for permit to set a pole at Peach and Essex Street be granted
the motion carried.
Application of the Midland Counties Public Service Corporation No-53, -for
oermit to set 4 toles and install 4 anchors on Brock Street between Johnson and Toro St
was granted on motion of W.B. Martin seconded by H.A. Gowman.
Application No 56 of the above named Company for permit to change position
of 2 poles on the east side of Walker Street between Pismo and Pacific Street was granted
on motion of H.A. Gowman seconded by Goo. W. Kilbern,
Application No. 52 of the hereinabove named Cpmpany for permit to set 2
poles and install 3 anchors on Archer Street between Buchon and Pacific Street was granted
on motion of James Piper seconder by H.A. Gowman.
Application of the Pacific Telephone and Telegraph Company for permit to
set a pole on Pacific Street between Johnson and Essex Street was granted on motion of
H.A. Gowman seconded by W.B. Margin.
On motion of Goo. W. Kilbern seconded by James Piper the claims of the
San Luis Rock Company in the amounts of $ 350.25 and $ 19.50 were ordered paid.
On motion of Jame EPiper seconded by H.A. Gowman the meeting adjourned to
Monday, Sept.25th at 7:30 P.M.
