On motion of Geo. W. Kilbern seconded by W.B. Martin the request of
W.J. Smith for permit to close Santa Rosa Street between Monterey and Higuera Street from
October 24th to November 8th on account of.construction work for the W-.T.. Reid Garage was
granted with the provision that it.be under the supervision.of the police department.
It was moved by W.B. Martin , seconded by Geo. W. Kilbern and carried
that the certified checks which accompanied the bids recently submitted on Fire Appara$us ,
and on which no action has as yet been taken,be returned to the respective bidders, provide
no legal objection is found and such action meets with the approval of the City Attorney.
A communication was filed by Frank Dodd relative to certain extras for
Stutz Fire Engine. Same ordered attached to original bid.
On motion of James Piper seconded by W.B. Martin the meeting adjourned to
Monday, October 30th at 7:30 P.M.

for permit to lay sidewalk and curbinf were granted :
E.P. Titcomb - 50 ft 5 ft park sidewalk and curbing on the South side Pacific Street
between Essex and Johnson Street.
Mrs..M.R. Pacheco - 100 ft. 5 ft park sidewalk and curbing on the North side of Pacific
Street between Essex and Johnson Street.
The Pacific Telephone and Telegraph Company were granted permit to extend
pole lead on Monterey Street between Johnson and Essex Street on motion of W.B. Martin
seconded by James Piper.
The application of M.P. Tognazzini for license for Cigars Sideline at 995
Higuera Street was referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for report on
motion of James Piper seconded by W.B. Martin.
