On motion of James Piper seconded by Geo. 71.Kilbern the Election Proclamation calling a General ? ^unicipal Election to be held in the City on Monday, April 2d , was passed and adopted , by the following vote: Ayes 1.B. Hartin, H.A. Go•,vnan , Geo. W. Kilbern , Ja•nnes Piper. Noes None. Absent : L.F. Sinsheimer. Present : W.B. Martin , Geo. W. Kilbern , James Piper ; L.F. Sinsheimer. Absent : H.A. Gowman. The following arpllcations for permit to build were granted on motion of James Piper seconded by Geo. W. Kilbern: P. Hughes - Garage part lot 6 Block 55 Cost $ 125.00 R.;. Rainey - 2 apartments lot 13 Block 180 Loomis addn U 20000.00 Application or A.i..Jenney for permit to ereet.a. platform in Block 23 - said platform to be used as a lubricating station and wash rack, was presented and matte= discussed. It was moved by James Piper that the matter be referred to the Commissioner 1 i I 1 1 1 1 1 of Public Health and Safety for report. No second Motion lost. Moticn was.then made by James Piper , seconded by W.B. Martin and carried that the said application be laid over for one week and referred to the City Attorney and Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for report. The report of the Police Judge for the month of February was received and ordered filed on motion of James Piper seconded by Geo. W. Kilbern. The application of Albert Caier for transfer of license for Soft Drinks and Cigars Sideleine at 1034 Morro Street to John Ghigliotti was referred to Commissioner H.A. Gowman on motion (.of W.B. Martin seconded by Geo. '. Kilbern. On motion of James Piper seconded by W.B. Martin the petition of Roscoe T. Murray .fori,permit to place a Board sign at 1056 Higuera Street was referred to Commissioner H.A. Gowman. The application of Addison Chong for permit to lay 75 ft of 6 ft park. sidewalk on the north side Palm Street between Chorro and north Broad Street was granted on motion of F.B. Martin seconded by Geo. W. Kilbern. Application of W.C. Straub for license for Restaurant ( Walters Cafe ).at 859 Monterey Street was referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for repo on motion of James Piper seconded by Geo. W. Kilbern. On motion of W.E. Martin seconded by James Piper the application of the Union Oil Company for permit to replace a deteriorated pole on Essex Street between Monterey and Higuera Street was granted. The application of Geo. N. Kilbern for permit to set a 20 ft pole on Upham Street between Broad-and High Street was referred to the Commissioner of Public Works for investigation and report. On motion of James Piper seconded by W.B. Martin the applications of, Joe Milani for license for Lodging House. , Cigars Sideline and Soft Drinks at 995= Higuera Street were granted. On motion of James Piper seconded by Geo. W. Kilbern the City Attorney was directed to collect contractors license from Ira Hodson. , On motion.of W.B. Martin seomnded.by Geo. W. Kilbern the salary of W.L.Payt Engineer of the Fire Department., was increased in the amount of $ 20.00 per month - $ 10. from the Street Fund and $ 10.00 from the Water Fund - Same to become effective March The matter of employing an assistant Engineer in the Fire Department was discussed and referred to the, Commissioner of-Public Health and Safety for suggestions and recommendations, on motion-of W.B. Martin seconded by Geo. W. Kilbern, Ordinance No. 92 ( New Series ), An Ordinance Regulating the Parking of Vehicles on the Streets'_of the City of San Luis Obispo was introauced and passed to print as amended by the following vote : Ayes : W.B. Martin , Geo. W. Kilbern , James Piper, L.F. Sinsheimer. Noes : None. Absent : H.A. Gasman. On motion of James Piper seconded by P.B. Martin the meeting adjourned.
