City Council met in regular session - Mayor L.F. Sinsheimer presiding:
Present : H.A.Go•.7man , Geo. W. Kilbern , James Piper, L.F. Sinsheimer.
Absent : W.B. Martin .
The minutes of April 2d, 5th and 9th were read and approved as read on motion
of James Piper seconded by Geo. W. Kilbern:

On motion of James Piper seconded by H.A. Gowman, Wm. Farrand was permitted
to bttild a garage on part of lot 1 Block 88 , with the understanding that said garage be
placed 50 fe?t from property line.
A.h;. Brooking was permitted to make repairs to building in Block 18, provides
that same does not conflict with Fire Proof Building Limits Ordinance and that work be done
under the supervision of Chief of Police.
On motion or James Piper seconded by ueo. W. Kilbern the Pacific Telephone
and Telegraph Company was permitted to move 5 poles toward curb line on Higuera Street
between Santa Rosa and Toro Street , also, to move 2 poles on s:; --ount of driveiaay - on
Aiphonso and Christian Streets between Broad and Victoria Street.
The petitions of M.J. Brassil and Chas. Conner for transfer of licenses to
A,r:.Brooking and S. Zegar respectively , were referred to the Commissioner of Public
Health and Safety for report on motion of James Piper seconder by Geo:aP�;_Kiibern.
The petition of the Valley Electric Company for permit to install an'- .Electric
Sign for Mayfield and Cords on Monterey Street was granted with the provision that same be
Installed under the supervision of the Come-:issioner of Public Health and Satety.
The applications of Chas. Massena for license for Leding 'House at 1815 Osos
W.Dover for license for Lunch Counter at 1804 Osos Street and O.S. Axtell for license for
Restaurant at 1819 Osos Street.. ware referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and
Safety for report on motion of James Piper seconded by Geo. 57. Kilbern.
'rhe reports ofthe City Clerk and the Police Judge for the month of March were
received and ordered filed on motion of H.A. Gamman seconder by James Piper.
Claim of Sebastian Munos in the amount of $ 19.20 was ordered paid on motion
H.A. Gasman seconded by Geo. m. Kilbern.
Claim of San Luis Transfer Company in the amount of $ 448.50 was allowed on
motion of Geo. W. Kilbern seconded by James Piper as was also, the claim of the Davis Con - -:
struction Company in the amount of $ 1,066.50 , being second estimate on Contract for the
construction of Morro Street Bridge.
On motion duly seconded and carried it was ordered that election officers in
precincts out side the City be compensated in the amount of $ 6.00 each , and that claims
for rental of polling places within and without the City be allowed in the amount of $$ 10.:
each.
On motion of H.A.Gowman seconded by Geo. W. Kilbern the Merchandising Bond of
b.Fi. Fanning in the amount of $ 200.00 was ordered cancelled.
