The aprlication of Brunk's Comedians -;No. 1 , by P.A.Brunk, for lioense for a
Theatrical performance was rejected on motion of H.A.Go.Iman secondea by Geo. W.Kilbern.
The claim of George.`-?atts in the amount of $ 99.00 for use of Automobile was
under discussion. It was moved by H.A.Gowman and seconded by James Piper that the
claim be rejected; that the salary of said Geo. Matta be raised in the amount of S 10.00
per month, same to become effective April 1st. The motion ,-carried.
On lotion of H A.Ga.vman seconded by Geo. "P.Kilbern and carried the City Cler
was directed to advertise. for bids to purchase a piece of Fire Apparatus of Triple Combinat=
ion, 350 to 750 gallon per minute pump capacity. Bids to be received up to Wednesday,
April 25th 1923 at 7:30 P.M.
On motion of James Piper seconded by H.A. Gowman the meeting adjourned to
Monday, April 23d at 7:30 P.M.

On tiotion of T.B. Yartin seconded by Geo. W. Kilbern the application of t
Andrews Estate for permit to extend Ice Cream Factory occupied by L. Ireland,20 x 28 feet
in rear, structure to be frame and iron, was rejected.
Application was received from Hamilton Bassett for permit to - repair fence,
' also a building to be used as a stable in Block 56. On motion of Geo. W. Kilbern ._.
seconded by W.B. Martin the matter was laid over for one week for,investigation. In the
meantime the petitioner was permitted to erect such joists as would permit him to cover
a quantity of hay with canvas..
On motto{¢;.of James Piper seconded by Geo. W. Kilbern the following applications
for sidewalk and curbing were granted
John Kirkeby - 50 ft. full width sidewalk and curbing on the South side of Sycamore Stree
between Santa Rosa and Toro Street,
J.A. Righetti - 100 ft. full width sidewalk and curbing on the south side of Sycamore Str et
between Santa.Rosa and Toro Street.
The Santa Maria Gas.Company was permitted to open trenches on Marsh Street .. . -.
between Beach and Archer Street and on Higuera :: '.treet between Archer and South Streets,
for the purpose of repairing gas mains.
On motion of James Piper seconded by Geo. W. Kilbern , Peter $anolli was
granted permit to connect with the City Serer on Branch Street between Price and Harris St.
Application of the midland Counties Public Service Corporation # 62 for
extension or Service on Branch Street between Cypress and Beebee Street was granted on
motion of ,Geo. W. Kilbern seconded:_by IN.B. Martin,
' The report of the City Treasurer for the month of March was received and
ordered filed on motion of H.A. Gowman seconded by W.B martin.
'rhe application of Hamilton Basett for license to conduct a Feed Stable
at 487 Marsh Street was referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for report
on motion of James Piper seconded by Geo. W. Kilbern.
The application of F.T. Takumi for license to conduct a Billiard Parlor at
866 Palm Street was referred to Commissioner Gowman for report on motion of James Piper
seconded by Geo. W. Kilbern.
The Merchandising Bond of the Western Auto Supply Agency in the amount of
$ 200.00 was received and referred to the Commissioner of Finance and Revenue for report as
to rating of Sutetles named therein .
