City Hall, Tuesday, May 15th 1923 - 4 o'clock P.M.
City Council met in special called session for the purpose of organizing
and election of officials and ofiicers.:.. _ Mayor-- .:L.F..Sinsheimer.pr- sided.
Present : W.B. Martin , H.A.Gowman , Geo. W. Kilbern , James Piper L.F. Sinsheimer.
Absent : Pione.
The of ricers elect.having complied with the requirements as to the filing of
Bonds aad subscribing to the prescribed oath , the Council adjourned.
The new officials took their places at the Council table and the Roll.was
called. Mayor L.ie. Sinsheimer presided.
Present: Wi.B. Martin , C.M. Carpenter , Geo. 'ff.-Kilbern.;. Chas. Forbes, L.F. Sinsheimer.
Absent : None:
The first order of business was `he election of a Vice President of the
Council, and W.B. n?artin was unanimously chosen to fill this position.
It.was moved by C.M. Carpenter and seconded by Geo. W. Kilbern that W.B.
be designated as Commissioner of.Finance and Revenue. Motion carried and so oeddered.
For Commissioner of Public Health and Safety , Geo. 19. Kilbern nominated.
C. ^. Carpenter . The nomination was seconded by W.B. martin . It was moved by
Geo. i7. Kilbern and seconded by Chas. Forbes that C.M. Carpenter be designated as Commissic
er of.Public health and Safety. The motion carried.
It was moved by C.M. Carpenter abd seconded by Chas. Forbes that Geo.W.Kilbei
be designated as Commissioner.of.Public Works. The motion carried .
On motion of C.M. Carpenter seconded by Geo. W. Kilbern, Chas. Forbes was
designated Commissioner of Supplies.
The retiring and also the new members of the Council •rrere calied upon and
responded with appropriate remarks to the occasion.
The Board of Directors or the .San Luis Obispo Chamber of Commerce presented
the Mayor and Council with a beautiful offering of flowers with greetings and beat wishes
for a successful administration. On motion of Chas. Forbes seconded by Geo. 17. ,Kilbe
the City Clerk was directed to express appreciation.
