On motion of C.M.Carpenter seconded by .7.B.1�artin license # 1815 issued to B.F.Gaxiola ---- Transfer -- $ 3.00 was ordered cancelled. The Fourth of July Committee appeared and requested the Council to contribute to-lard financing the 4-,h of July Celebration . It was moved by C.M.Carrent( and seconded by Chas Forbes that,$ 250.00 be apr.rorriated from the General Fund for this purpose. The motion lost. Resolution No. 152 ( New Series ), A Resolution applying to the State Board of Health for permit to construct Imhoff Sewage Tank was introduced, passed and adopted on motion of C.MI.Carpenter seconded by W.B. liartin by the following vote Ayes : .7.B.martin, C.M.Carpenter , Chas. Forbes , L.F. Sinsheimer. woes : None. Absent Geo. W. Kilbern. Claims against the City for the month of May were ordered paid subject to the approval of the heads of the respective departments. The application of D. Chlentzos for permit to install an electric sign at 1022 Morro Street was granted on motion of C.M. Carpenter seconded by Chas. Forbes. On motion of C.M. Carpenter seconded by W.B.Martin, Geo. W. Reynolds was granted license for Soft Drinks at 707 Santa Barbara Avenue. The applications of Stanley Mc Cutchan for permit to build in Block 107, and D. Chlentzos for certain repairs to building in Block 17 were granted on motion of C.:Y.Carpenter seconded by Chas. Forbes. Brovelli for transfer of license for Hotel Granada Lodging House to J.E.France was referrea to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for report on motion of Geo. W. Kilbern seconded by W.B.Martin. The merohandising Bond of Treltman.Bros. Produce Company, Surety Selina Sha wags referred to the Commissioner of Finance.and Revenue for report. The application of the Santa Maria Gas company for permit to open trench f the installation of a Gas Main on Morro Street between Pismo and Buchon Street was granted on motion of Geo. W. Kilbern seconded by Cris. Forbes. The application of Mary Berry for license to conduct a lodging M use at 737 2onterey Street was referred to the Commissioner of.Eublic Health and Safety for report on motion of W.B.Martin seconded by Geo. Forbes seconded by Geo. 1.7. Kilbern the Parent - Teacher Asociation was permitted to serve Lunch,etc. from a stand on Huguera Street on July 4th. M.R.Van Wormer and P.D.Cornelius appeared in re the opening of Kentucky Ave. On motion of C.M.Carpenter seconded by Chas. Forbes that the applica ion of Jim Moreno for license for Soft Drinks at 1034 Morro Street be denied. Motion carried. On motion of C.M.Carpenter seconded by W.B.!9artin the application of Quong Ung for license for Noodle Parlor on Palm Street was granted. IT In re Nipomo Street Bridge Rail On motion of C.M.Caroenter second by Chas. Forbes the Commissioner of Public Works was instructed to install netting on Bridg in accordance with his report. In re mattresses in City Jail On motion of C.M.Garpenter seconded by Geo. W. Kilbern the Commissioner of Supplies was directed to provide new mattersses or have the ones now-in use made over. It was moved by C.1J.Carpenter and seconded by Geo. N. Kilbern that the office held by the Chief Officials are hereby declared vacant , to take effect at the time their m. successors qualify . 'lotion carried. The Council then proceeded with the appointment of Naw Officials . For City Treasurer , J.C.James call was unamiously elected City Treasurer. wags nominated by W.B. Martin and upon roll For Citv Collector Mrs. Annie M. Lilley was placed in nomination by Chas. Forbes and upon roll call was unamiously elected City Collector. For City Attorney C.M.Carpenter presented the name of M.A. Fitzgerald and @l.T.Shipsey was nominated by W.B.Martin. Upon roll call the result was as follows: W.B.Martin ...... W.T.Shipsey C.M. Carpenter M.A.Fitzgerald Geo. W.Kilbern M.A.Fitzgerald Chas. Forbes .... M.A. Fitzgerald L.F.Sinsheimer ...
