The following applications for permit to build were granted on motion of

The application of C01. Fong for permit to build 5 one room houses 10 x 14
feet on Bloel Q Phillips Addition at a cost of $ 100.00 each was granted on motion of
Geo. We gilbern seconded by Chas. Forbes.
Application of R.I.I.Bradbury for permit to build a Brick Laundry 10 x 12 ft
on lot 14 Block 7 Central Addition at a Cost of $ 300.00 was granted on motion of
Geo. 17. Kilbern seconded by Chas, Forbes.
Application of Herman Tschiesche for permit to build A garage on lots
13 & 14 Block 13 Central Addition at a Cost of $ 305.00 was granted on motion of Geo.ti7. Kilt ern
seconded by Chas. Forbes.
Application of Betty Bassett for permit to make certain repairs to residence
and construct fence etc on property in Block 56 was granted on motion of Geo. We Kilbern
seconded by Chas. Forbes.
Application of Chess. Maier for permit to build a garage on Lots 1 & 2 Block
4 at a cost of $ 150.00 was referred to the Commissioner of Public Works for report on
motion of C.I:I.Carpenter seconded by Chas. Forbes.
The petition of Selina Sharpe , Roy Senour and F.J.Shaw for permit to lay
four foot park sidewalk on West side Essex Street between Pismo and Buchon Street was
granted on motion of Chas. Forbes seconded by Geo. We Kilbern.
The matter of the request of Selina Sharpe for permit to lay park sidewalk a
corner of Pismo and Essex Street to follow the curve of curb of Street line at that point ,
without crossing parking between curb and sidewalk was referred to the Commissioner of

The application of Sarah Palmer for permit to •lay 60 ft. of 5 ft park
sidewalk and curbing on the North side'of.Syeamore'Street between Santa Rosa Street and
Hathaway Avenue was granted on motion of Goo. We Hilbern seconded by Chas. Forbes,
Application of GolVeAnderson for permit to construct 28fte sidewalk and
curbing , also basement on the east side of Morro Street between Monterey and Higuera Street ,
Block 17 , was granted on motion of Goo. M. Hilbern seconded by C.M.Carpenter subject to
the approval of the City Engineer.
Relative to Sisquoc Rock It was moved by C.11.Carpenter and seconded
by Geo. W. Hilbern that the City Engineer submit a report on said rock from tests that he
may have made.
The application of Mary Berry for license for lodging House at 737 Monter
Street was referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for report on motion of
Geo. 19. Hilbern sedonded by Chas. Forbes.
The application of Mrs. J. Fulton & Son for license for Restaurant at
1403 Osos Street was referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for report on
motion of Geo. We Hilbern seconded by Chas Forbes.

received and ordered filed on motion of Geo. We Hilbern seconded by C.H.Carpenter.
The applications of the Santa Maria Gas Company for permit to open t
on Higuera Street between'Nipomo and Carmel Street and on Higuera Street between Santa No
and Toro Street wbs granted on motion of Geo. W.Hilbern seconded by C.I;i. Carp enter.
The petition of property owners in the vicinity of the'City Sewer Farm,
protesting against the use of the City's said property for sewage disposal purposes and f
the burning thereon of waste and debris , was received and ordered filed on motion of

In re Resolution of Request and communication from Jno. L.D. Roberts,
Supervisor of District f 5 Monterey County, California -- Subject San Simeon - Carmel
Highway : It was moved by C.P'.Carpenter and seconded by Geo. Wo Hilbern that the
,ommunication be received and placed on file and that the Resolution be not adopted' at
'this meeting.

for the redemption of Delinquent Tax, was referred to the Commissioner of Finance and
Revenue and the City Attorney for report.

Street: It was moved by CoM.Carpenter and seconded by ChWs.Forbes that the applicati
be not granted. After discussion the motion was withdrawn. It was then moved

11r. Milani to be notified to appear before the Council personally or by Counsel at the
next meeting, July 2d.
On motion of C.lv.Carpenter seconded by Chas. Forbes the application of
R.L.Dennis for license for lunch Counter at 879 Monterey Street was grantedg as was also,
the application of Herrera Bros for license for Boxing Exhibition at 874E Higuera Street on
the evening of July 4th.
In re use of Government lot , cor Marsh and lIorro Street, as parking place
for Automobiles: It was moved by C,M,Carpenter and seconded by Geo. W. Hilbern that
