Petitions were received from the Valley Electric Company for permit to
place an Electric Sign at the Ford Garage, I:Ionterey Street and from L.F.Turnage for
permit to place an Electric Sign , also a Board sign at the vaiser Building , corner
Higuera and Santa Rosa Street These petitions mere granted on motion of I�I.B.I�artin
seconded by Geo. W. Lilbern with the provision that work be done under the supervision of
the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety,
The petition of Thos Shipman for permit to place 125 feet of concrete
-retaining wall in creek'at rear of property on I;?arsh Street between Santa Rosa and Toro
Street was granted on' motion of Geo. Id.' Eilbern' Seconded by' 17.B.I. artine- -
Petition was received from property owners on I•Iurray Avenue requesting that
sewer be extended from'present terminus'at hurray avenue and Sterner Street , westerly to
Stenner Creek, thence to connect with present Sewer line on Santa'Roaa Street;' also', that

Following discussion of the matter of Sewer extensions on Murray Avenue
west of Hathway Avenue , on North Broad St and on Lqurray Avenue between Grand Avenue and
Henderson Avenue , it was moved by Geo. Eilbern and seconded by Chas. Forbes that the
City Engineer be instructed to furnish the Council with plans , specifications and details

the work be done under the supervision and to the approval of the City Engineer.
The report of the City Collector for the month of August was received and
ordered filed on motion of 17.B.1-Tartin seconded by Chas. Forbes.
An application was received from the Womans Civic Club for license for
the business of Established Theatre. Discussion . It was moved by I'J,B,I: ?artin
seconded by Chas. Forbes,and unanimously carried, that the application be granted.
This being the.date designated for receiving and opening Bids for the
construction of a reinforced concrete Bridge over San Luis Obispo Creek on Chorro Street,
the following is a list of all bids received , to wit :
Lisher and Carrillo - Coalinga, Calif. P.O.Box 373 59053.00
"I.H.Porter - San Luis Obispo, Calif 42849.00
Accompanying I•x. Porter's Bid was a communication in
which he proposed to purchase the present old bridge
for the sum of $ 400.00, provided however , that the
contract for the,new structure be awarded him.

.after discussion it was moved by Chas. Forbes seconded by C.1.1.Carpenter and carried that
the bids be taken under advisement. -
On motion of Chas. Forbes seconded by Geo. 1 -7, kilbern claims against .the
City for the month of August were ordered,paid when apprrved.by the heads of the respectiv
depattments.
