Forbes, L.F.Sinsheimer. �. Absent C.T_;.T.Carpenter. The minutes of November 19th 8;'26th, and December 3d and 11th were read and approved as-amended, on motion of W.B.Martin seconded by Chas. Forbes. The following applications for permit to build were granted on motion of Geo. W. Kilbern seconded by Chas. On motion of Geo. W. Kilbern seconded by W.B.Martin the following arplications for permit to lay sidewalk and curbing were granted C.L. & F.H.Johnson - 40 ft. full width sidewalk on the west side of Garden Street between Higuera and Marsh Street. E.Taylor Smith - 47 ft, full width sidewalk on the west side Garden Street between Higuera and Harsh Street. H.B.Turner - 50 ft, full width sidewalk on the east side of Osos Street between Pacific and Pismo Street. R.P.Sutliff - 50 ft full width sidewalk on the east side of Osos Street between Pacific Coast R.R. Right way Pacific and Pismo Street. C.S.I.Villiams - Osos Street between Islay and Leff Street. On motion of G6o,Vl, Kilbern seconded by-Chas. Forbes the Santa Haria Gas Co were permitted to open trenches in Streets at the following named locations, to wit : On Garden Street between Marsh and Pacific Street and on Ida Street between Mill and Peach Street 1 1 1 C The application of the Midland Counties Public Service Corporation No. 68 for permit to replace pole on Broad Street between Church and Upham Street was granted on motion of Geo, 111. Kilbern seconded by 71.B.Martin. Petition received from Bank aF Italy for permit to hang an electric Sign . Same was granted on motion of Geo. W, Kilbern seconded by W.B.Martin with the provision .that the work be done to'-thetlbmproval of.the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety. The petition of the Midland Counties Public Service Corporation for permit to install and operate a 285 Gallon underground gasoline Tank to supply Company cars, on premises of said Company on Pismo Street between Archer and Walker Streets , was granted on motion of Geo. VV,, Kilbern seconded by W.B. Martin with the understanding that said installation be done to the satisfaction of the Commissioner of Public Health and 6afety. The Herchandising Bond of Geo. E. Gearing , Surety Geneva L. Naylor, was referred to the Commissioner of Finance and Revenue for report. Application of Ivlrs. J.H. Palmquist for license for Lodging House at 985 Chorro Street was referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for report on motion of 1, %B.1Iartin seconded by Geo. W.' Kilbern. The reports of the City Clerk; City Collector and City Treasurer for the month of November were received and ordered filed on motion of Chas. Forbes seconded by Geo. 01. 'Kilbern. The resignation of James B. Weaver as pumper at the Laguna Pumping Plant was received and accepted on motion of Geo. W. Kilbern seconded by V4 B.Martin. The application of Geo. S. Brown for appointment to the position of pumper at the Laguna Pumping Plant was received and ordered filed. Applications for the regular quarterly license's were presented and refer to the Commissioner.of Public Health and Safety for investigation and report on motion 'of Geo.;l'1. Kilbern seconded by Chas. Forbes. The Claim of Wm Lane in the amount of 1,005.75, being balance due on Chorro Street Bridge Contract, was presented , and ordered paid on motion.of Geo. VI. Kilbe seconded by Chas. Forbes. Mayor L.F.Sinsheimer appointed the following named as a- Committee on the Edw Bok Peace Award:- C.B.Hughston, Fred Darke and Lloyd Kirkeby. Upon the report of the City Attorney that the Bond of R.L..Perry as Police Judge was sufficient and correct in legal form the same was approved on motion of ! -1.B.I „art seconded by Geo. F1/ Kilbern. Geo. W. Long appeared before the Council and requested that some action be taken relative to the paving of lower Higuera Street. Discussion . The following motion was then offered by Chas. Forbes seconded by'Geo. 17. Kilbern: ” That the City Engineer be instructed to prepare plans and specifications for the paving of Higuera Street from Ripomo Street to South Street in the City of San Luis Obispo. Said pavement to be of Willite process asphaltic concrete and to be laid according t6 their standard specifi- cations. On the present strip of hydraulic concrete pavement approximately eighteen ( 18 ) feet pride there is to be laid a two ( 2 ) inch wearing surface. From the edges of this strip to the gutter line the pavement to be five ( 5 ) inches thick laid in two courses. Concrete curbs', sidewalks and gutters be laid where needed. This improvemenjr to be made in accordance with the provisions of those certain acts of the legislature of the State- offCalifornia designated respectively as the " Improvement Aet of 1911," and the " Improvement Bond Act of 1915 ", and that serial bonds, toIrepresent any unpaid assessments be issued for a period of ten ( 10 ) years under the conditions therein provided. The motion carried. Mayoh L.F.Sinsheimer voting negatively.
