The application of the Granite Construction Company for permit to lay 130
feet of curbing and gutter on the East side of Santa Barbara,Avenue between Upham and High
Street was granted on motion.of Geo*W,Kilbern seconded by 0.I4.Carpenter.
On motion of Geo. 17. Kilbern seconded :by C.M.Carpenter the following-
applications for permit to connect,with the City Sewer.were granted:

On motion of Geo.W.uilbern seconded by Chas. Forbes the Santa Maria Gas
Company were,permitted to open trench on Upham Street between Broad and High.Street for
the puropse of installing Gas Iviain. - ,
Application # 77 of the Iviidland Counties Public Service Corporation for
permit to set three poles and,two anchors on Murray Avenue between Monterey and Grove Stree
was granted on motion of Chas.Forbes seconded by Geo.1Y.Kilbern.

The application of N.E.Crook of the Winter Garden 1085 Higuera Street for
license for Theatrical Entertainment was laid over for one week on motion of C.I,I.Carpente
seconded by Geo,I,,V. 1lbern.
On motion of.C.I.I.Carpenter seconded by Geo.'�V.Kilbern the application of
Herrera Bros. for license for Boxing Exhibition at 874 1/2 Higuera Street , on February
22d. was referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for report.
Merchandising Bond of M.E.Netto, surety E.R.Lewis, was approved on motion
of C.I.I.Carpenter seconded by Geo.IV.Kilbern.
Applications of W.L.Payton and VI.A.Sevier for position of Pumper at the=
Laguna Pumping Plant were received and ordered placed on file on motion of Geo.W.Kilbern
seconded by C.I.I.Carpenter.
A petition signed by W.W,Mathews, G.W.Long, E.L.Johnston and L.F.Carpenter
declaring their preference for Hydraulic Cement Concrete as the type of-pavement for lowe
Higuera Street was received and.ordered filed on motion of•C.IzT.Carpenter seconded by
Geo. W. &ilbern.
Petition of 0.A.I4aino et al, relative to a revision of the " Fire Limits ".
affecting Block 14 was received. I :Matter deferred for one week on motion of ,C.M.Carpente
seconded by Geo,W.Kilbern.
The application of C.A.Maino for permit to erect a frame and iron building
to be used as a Storage Room ', in Block 14 fronting on Palm Street, at a -Cost of $ 39000.00
was laid over to the next meeting on motion of Chas.Porbes seconded by Geo. W . Kilbern
Application of Elr. 1,1aino for permit to build a Storage Room on Lot 4 Block 34 at a Cost of
600.00 was withdrawn.
Communication of ti"u.B.Roselip in re purchase of right of way for Beebee Stree
Storm Drain was ordered filed.
City Clerk directed to acknowledge receipt of• letter from the State Board•of
Health relative to Sewage Disposal of the City of San Luis Obispo , advising that the matte
would be considered by the Council.
On motion of C.I,I.Carpenter seconded by Geo.':?.Kilbern the local Parlor of
Native Daughters of the Golden 14est were permitted to sell Poppies on the Streets on
Saturday, February 16th for the bebefit of the Homeless Children Fund.
The matter of the purchase of pipe , also the matter of Sewer extension on
Graves avenue were laid over:.:to the next meeting.
James Piper appeared and - requested that some action be taken in re grades on
Leff Street. On motion of C.H.Carpenter seconded by Chas. Forbes the Commissioner
of Public Vorks was directed to take the matter up with the�,City Engineer and report at
the, next meeting.
The matter in re application Ido. 72 of the Midland Counties Public Service
Corporation was deferred for one week.
On motion of C0.I.Carpenter seconded by Chas. Forbes the matter of the
collection of unpaid licenses was continued for one week as was•also the request of the
Parent Teacher Association relative to " Curfew ".
The application of the Pacific Telephone and Telegraph Company for permit
to replace a pole at corner.of Osos and Buchon Street was granted on motion of C.1,71.Carpen
seconded by Chas. Forbes.
