City Council met in adjourned special session, pursuant to special call of
Friday, February 29th - 2 o'clock P,11,, for the purpose therein set forth.
Ivlayor-L.F.Sinsheimer presided.
Present W,B.Ilartin, C.IS.Carpenter, Chas..Forbes, L.F.Sinsheimer.
Absent Geo.I.V.Kilbern.
Desired witnesses , Cecil Finch and Mrs E.H.O'Connor nol" present.
On motion of C.I.I.Carpenter seconded by Chas. Forbes the meeting adjourned
to Tuesday, March 11th at 4 o'clock P.P?.

City ,Council met in adjourned special session pursuant to special call of
Ivionday, March 3d - 2 o'clock P -I?., for the purpose of transacting such business as came
before it, Mayor L.F.Sinsheimer presiding.
Present : W.B.Hartin,.C.M.Carpenter, Chas. Forbes , L.F.Sinsheimer.

The following applications for permit to build were granted on motion of

The application of VIm Erdman for permit to remove a barn from lot 10

The application of A.R.Hathway for permit to lay 150 feet 5 ft park side-
walk and curbing on the South side of Peach Street between Essex and Toro Street was grant
on motion of 1,7. B.L.Iartin seconded by C.Ivl. Carl) enter.
On motion of Chas Forbes seconded by VI.B.P;Iartin the following applicati
for permit to connect with the City Sewer were granted with the provision that the work be
done under the supervision of the Commissioner of Public Works;

E.J.Leitcher - Higuera Street between Nipomo and Carmel Street
Mrs.Annie L.Walraff - Johanson Street.
On motion of C.I:i.Car_oenter seconded by Chas. Forbes the Santa Maria Gas
Company was permitted to open trenches at the following named locations, to wit
On First Street between Essex and Johnson Street
On Essex Street between Pismo and Buchon Street
On Higuera Street between Nipomeand French Street.

The report of the City Collector for the month of February was received and
ordered placed on file on motion of C,It•I.Carpenter seconded by Chas Forbes.
The petition of ',,'I.C.Straub ( Walters Cafe ) for transfer of license for
Restaurant at 859 Ivionterey Street to Lee Jaqua , was referred to the Commissioner of
Public Health and Safety for report on motion of VI.B.I,Iartin seconded by Chas. Forbes.
Petition of C.Van Proyen for transfer of license for Barber at 8811 i,Ioiitere;-
Street to Steiner and Hazard was granted on motion of VI.B.I;Iartin seconded by C.I;I.Carpenter.
Application.of Adele Kucera for license for Lodging House at 885 Higuera
Street was referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for report on motion of
W.B.Martin seconded by Chas. Forbes.
A petition signed by A,W.Shurragar et al, requesting that the said petition
be permitted to withdraw signatures from a former petition for the paving of Palm Street
with FJillite pavement, was received. The same was ordered placed on file on motion of
C.I ?.Carpenter seconded by W.B.I�iartin.
Petition of A.17.Zhurragar et al, relative to reducing width of certain por
of Palm Street , also pavement of same from Johnson Street to Grand Avenue, was received.)
On motion of 1I.B.I:Iartin seconded by Chas. Forbes the petition was ordered filed with other
petitions for said street; to be considered at time other petitions are considered.
On motion of Chas. Forbes seconded by C.I?.Carpenter the petition of
Property owners on Santa Barbara Avenue between Osos Street and Broad Street, protesting
against the pavement of the said Street was ordered placed on file with other petitions
for the improvement of the said Street and to be, considered at the same time other petiti
are considered.
An application was received from .I& Payne ,.plumber, for permit to connect
the proposed sewage disposal system of the I:it. Pleasanton.Square Addition -to the main Public
Sewer line on Santa Rosa Street. Hatter discussed. On motion of W.B.Ilartin
seconded by Chas. Forbes. the matter was laid over,to the next meeting. The promotors of
the said new Subdivision to be requested to have an Engineer present.at the next meeting of
the Council..to explain the detail of the proposed Sewer linew.
Applications of Ben IvIunoz, S.H.Schuyler, C.E.11Iilmot and 1,7m.Calloway for
appointment as police officer and those of R.E.ISay and Roy Porter for appointment as
Traffic Officer in the City of San Luis Obispo, were received and ordered placed on file on
motion of Chas. Forbes seconded by VI.B,Martin.
Communication of W.B.Roselip , City Engineer, relative to completion of
plans for Street improvement in the Southside Addition , etc., was ordered on file on moti
of C.Id.Carpenter seconded by 7.I.B.I:Iartin.
Final action on proposed new Ordinances Nos, 97 & 98 ( New Series ) was
deferred to the next meeting.
Application of Herrera Bros for license for Amusement Parlor at 874 1/2
Higuera "treet was again laid over.
Application of Mary-J. Gnesa for license for Restaurant at 995 Higuera Str
was granted on motion of C.I:I.Carpenter seconded by VV.B.Mlartin.
Application of the Eagle Pharmacy for license for Cigars Sideline at 898
Higuera Street , granted on motion of C.H.Carpenter seconded by Chas. P orbes.
Application of Charles Martin for license for Lunch Wagon , granted on
tion of IV.B.Martin seconded by C.M.Carpenter.
On motion of C.II.Carpenter seconded by W.B.Martin it was ordered that the
application of the winter Garden ( IT.E.Crook ) for license for Theatrical Entertainment
at 1085 Higuera Street , be laid upon the table.
