Joseph A.Righetti et al presented a petition for the charging of the name of

On motion of C.I:.Carpenter seconded by Geo.!Y.Lilbern the petition_ was referred to the City
Attorney to advise the Council of the legal basis of same, and necessary legal procedure.

The City Attorney requested more time in which to render an opinion relative
•t.o. the claim of Lillian ITurdock ,
The City Attorney reported adversely in re claim of Walter B. Roselip in
the amount of $ 125.00 and it was moved by C.hs.Carpenter and seconded by Chas Forbes
that the City Clerk be instructed to advise Ivlr Roselip that his claim is not considered
by the Council to be a legal one and therefore denied. The motion carried.
Ordinance No, 100 ( Mew Series ) An Ordinance amending Section One ( 1)
and Three ( 3 ) of Ordinance No. 45 ( New Series ) was finally passed on motion of
Chas Forbes seconded by Geo.',J.Kilbern by the following vote :
Ayes : VI.B.Martin, C.Ii.Carpenter, Geo.W.Kilbern, Chas Porbes.
Floes : None.

The petition of property owners protesting against the open automobile
muffler and speed on Osos Street in the vicinity of the Southern Pacific Depot was ordered
placed on file on motion of C.I: ?.Carpenter seconded by Chas Forbes.
In re appointment of Traffic Officer : It was moved by C.I:I. Carp enter and
seconded by Geo.I.V.TKilbern that Gene Roberts be appointed on the Police force to act as
Traffic Officer,and to perform such other duties as may be assigned to him by the Chief of
Police, at a salary of $ 125.00 per month, with an additional compensation of $ 25.00 per
month for use of equipment furnished by himself.

The petition of E.A.Arano requesting that u Gas light be installed on
Islay Street between Chorro and IeIorro Street wras ordered filed.
A cormunication was received from the League of California Iviunicipalities
relative to a certain proposed amendment to the constitution in re the distribution of
Gasoline Tag. On motion of 0.I:I.0arpenter seconded by Chas Forbes the communication
was referred to the City Attorney with the request that hE bring in a recommendation or
report at the nest meeting.
On motion of C.I1.Carpenter seconded by Geo.G /.Lilbern the Commissioner of
Supplies was empowered to purchase 650 feet of 12 " concrete pipe and 100 feet of 8 "
surface pipe for use at the City Farm.
In re assistance to Engineer of Fire Department: Discussion_.
On motion of Chas Forbes seconded by Geo.''!.F_ilbern the Commissioner of Public Health and
Safety was instructed to investigate the matter of the need of an Assistant in the Fire--
