City Council met in adjourned session.
Present : C.LY.Carpenter, Geo.I- 'I.Kilbern,.Chas Forbes.
Abdent : W.B.Martin , L.F.Sinsheim r.
Because of the absence of both Mayor L.F.Sinsheimer and VI.B.Martin ,
President of the Council,it became necessary to elect a chairman.
Geo. W. Kilbern nominated Chas Forbes The nomination was seconded by C.M,Carpenter .
C.M.Carpenter acted as temporary chairman and Chas Forbes was - elected to preside.

Petition was received from J.A.Righetti requesting permit to place a sign
8 by 2 ft at the junction of Santa Rosa Street and Hathway Avenue - sign to read ° Hathway

C.I.I.Carpenter the petition was granted.
On motion of Geo.V-I.Kilbern seconded by
Petition of R.J.Hearne for permit to install an underground gasoline storage
tank ( capacity 120 gal ) and pump, on premises ift Block 61 was granted on motion of
Geo. II.Kilbern seconded by C.IHT.Carpenter with the provision that the work be done subject
to the approval of the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety.
The , reports -of -the City Clerk and City Treasurer for the month of.August
were received and ordered filed on motion of C.M,Carpenter seconded by Geo,W.Kilbern.
In a communication the Union Oil Company requested permit to renew pipe lines
1 & # 2 on Pismo Street from Southern Pacific Company's Wight of way to the junction of
Pismo and Higuera Street, a distance of approximately 6,300 ft. Discussion. Matter
laid over,for one week.
The application of G.Studle for license for cigars sideline , to be carried
on Peanut and Popcorn Wagon , was referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and safety
for report on motion of Geo.I'I.Kilbern seconded by C.M.Carpenter.
On motion of 0,M.Carpenter seconded by Geo.W.Ki.lbern• the official,Bond of
VV.J.Duddleson as Chief of Police was.approved.
Applications.for the regular quarterly licenses were.presented and were
referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for report , on motion of
Geo #W,Kilbern seconded by C.I.T.Carpenter.
Communication was received from the Southern Pacific R.R.Co relative to
Delinquent Tax Sales on lot 4 Block 187 A sand requested that.same be cancelled. The-
City Assessor advised the Council that the said sales were erroneous and thereupon it was
moved by C.I.I.Carpentnr seconded by Geo.lI.-Mbern that the cancellation be made . The
motion carried.
On motion of C.11,Carpenter seconded by Geo,17.Kilbern the matter of the
purchase of a new pattern for man hole rings was referred to the Commissioner of Public
Works with power to act.
Tlk: matter of replacing 285 ft of sewer on Toro Street, was referred on moti
of C.hl.Carpenter seconded by Geo VI,Kilbern to the Commissioner of Public Works for report
at the next meeting.
The matter relative to the petition of the Valley Electric Company for permit
to hang an Electric Sign at the Roma Restaurant was again laid over .
On motion of C.I,T.Carpenter seconded by Geo,W,Kilbern the meeting adjourned
to I- Ionday, September 29th at 2:30 P.Id.
