In a communication the entertainment committee of the U.P.B.C. Convention
reguested permission to place and maintain a Band stand on Garden Street at Higuera St.,
during Convention week.. The request was granted on motion of C.Iu.Carpenter seconded
Chas Forbes.
In a.communication L.A.Enos, Chairman of the Entertainment Committee,
invited the Council to participate in the.Grand Parade of the Supreme Council of the
U.P.:-:.C., on October 15th at 10:15 O'clock A.I1, . On motion of Chas Forbes second
by C.I.Carpenter the invitation was accepted with thanks.
The application of the Union Oil Company for permit to make certain changes
in pipe line on Pismo, Walker and High Streets, in accordance with plat presented and on
file was granted on motion of Chas Forbes seconded by C.M.Carpenter.
Application of Gaynell Me Ilmoil and Isabel Snyder for license for Lunch
Counter and Soft Drinks at corner of Marsh and Toro Street laid over for one week.
Upon favorable report and motion of C.I1.Carpenter seconded by Chas Tarbes
the application of M.V.Bettencourt for license for Restaurant at 859 Monterey Street
was granted.
The merchandising Bond of Horn and 1,7ilson , Surety O.H.Horn, was approved
on motion of Chas Forbes seconded by C.I. Carpenter.
The petition of the Valley Electric Company for permit to hang an electric
sign at the Roma Restaurant , 879 Monterey Street, was granted on motion of Chas Forbes
seconded by C.I3.Carpenter with the provision that the work be done to the satisfaction of
the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety.
Claims against the City for the month of September were ordered paid, on
otion of Chas Forbes seconded by C.H.Carpenter , subject to the approval of the heads of
the respective dep�xtments.
Claims for refund on Unsecured Personal Property Tag collections by the
City Assessor , brought about by a reduction in the tax rate for the year 1924 -1925 were
allowed, on motion of C.E.Carpenter seconded by Cbas Forbes.
Hamilton Bassett called the attention of the Council to the manner in
ch garbage is being handled in certain parts of the City - and bg certain carriers.
On motion of C.I:.Carpenter seconded by Chas Forbes the meeting adjourned
to Idonday, October 13th at 7:30 P.Me
