HomeMy WebLinkAbout03/09/19252,6 In re more adequate sewer disposal Mayor L.F.Sinsheimer called the attention of the Council to the fact that the State Board of Health had advised that the City required a larger sewage disposal plant than the one now in use, and -that the matter should be considered. That the plans and cost of a disposal plant to supplant the one now in use, world require.the approval.of.the State Board of Health. It was suggested by Mayor Sinsheimer that the City employ a Sanitary Engineer, to act with the local City Engineer, to make the survey, plans and estimate of cost, also cost of.operation after completion, and report result of such survey to the Council. Acting upon this suggestion, it was moved by C.M.Carpenter and seconded by -Chas Forbes that the Mayor be requested to suggest or name a sanitary engineer for the purpose of making the required survey. etc.' The motion carried. Mayor Sinsheimer also brought up the matter of the need -of extensions to the present sewer lines in certain parts of the City.9 and City Engineer L.W.Moore was . . requested to locate the sections of the City where sewers are now required and furnish a ma and estimate of colt at the next meeting. It was moired by VI.B.P:Iartin and seconded -by C.M.Carpenter that the application be denied. Discussion. Motion withdrawn. It was then moved by Vi.B.Martin and seconded by Chas Forbes that the said application be referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for investigation and report with the recommendation that the report be adverbd& The motion carried* On motion of W.B.Martin seconded by Geo. Petitions of nomination for offices to be filled at the City Election , April 6th, were duly presented by the City Clerk, with affidavit as to the sufficiency of said petitions. Naylor ; Geo.W.Kilnern H.E.Cox.; Ed.N, Kaiser; John Chapek; R.W.Shelby ; Robert Squires, For City Clerk ; Callie M. John. For School Director F.H.Throop C.L.Smith. Commissioner of Public Health and Safety reported favorably upon the applicat on of A.S.Mc Intyre for license for Restaurant at 1002 Railroad Avenue and upon his motion seconded by V4B.111artin the application was granted. The petition of Mattie S. Fry for transfer of license for lodging house , 979 Osos Street to Maude 0. Evans was granted on motion of C.M.Carpenter seconded by Chas Forhes. The applications of Foster Kleiser Company for permit to place advertising sign boards on lot 6 and lots 1 & 2 Block 1 Central Addition were granted on motion of C.M.Carpenter seconded by 19.B.Martin. The application of the hereinabove named Company for permit to place a sign on Lot 1 Block 1 Imperial Addition was laid over to the neat meeting. ' City Engineer L.W.Moore submitted his report and estimate of cost of the proposed sewer extensions in various parts of the City, the cost of which it is proposed to cover by a bond issue. As indicated in the report there will be approximately 11,000 feet of sewer extensions at a cost of $ 18.000.00. Bheolution No. 176 ( New Series) , Concerning the bonding of the City of San Luis Obispo for certain Municipal Improvements ( Sewers) was introduced, passed and - adopted on motion of W.B.Marti.n seconded by Geo.4'I.Kilbern by the following vote: Ayes : 1V,B.Martin,C.M.Carpenter9 Geo.V1,Kilbern, Chas Forbes ; L.F.Sinsheimer. Noes : None. Absent : None. Isgayor Sinsheimer presented a draft of an Ordinance providing for a Idilk Imspection Department. The matter was discussed at length. Same to be brought up at the next meeting.
