HomeMy WebLinkAbout04/13/1925��6 It was moved by Chas Forbes and seconded by Geo.W.Kilbern that the propositi included on the General Municipal Election and Consolidated Bond Election Ballot, fbr the issuance of Sewer Improvement Bonds in the sum of $ 18,000.00 and voted upon by the elect of the City of Sah Luis Obispo on the.6th day of April.1925, having received.more:than the necessary two thirds majority be and the same is hereby declared tQ have carried. The motion carried. On motion of W.B,11artin seconded by Chas Forbes and carried the Election Officers for Consolidated precincts No 1 to 5 inclusive, within the -City of San Luis Obispo were allowed $ 8,00 each for their services; those in consolidated precincts No. 6 and 7 , without the boundary of the City of San Luis Obispo were allowed $ 6,00 each for their services; Rental for Polling places fixed at 10900. Claims against the City for the month of March were ordered paid subject to the approval of the heads of the respective departments , on motion of W.B.Martin seconded by Geo *W.Kilbern. 0 Arplication of Ilan Schaick & Me Caughan for permit to build a Wash and Grease Rack on lot 8 Block 8 , corner Nipomo and Higuera Street, was denied on motion of Geo.W.Kilbern seconded by FI.B.Idartin. On motion of Geo,W.Kilbern seconded by W.B.Martin the following applicatio for permit to build were granted: H.Q. Kinsman - Residence pts lots 9 & 16 Block 137 Phillips Addn Cost 2,500.00 D. Edw. R. The application of J.C.Peyton for license for Garage at 402.Higuera Street was granted on motion of C.I,I.Carpenter seconded by Geo,W.Kilbern. Following discussion of the proposed Milk Inspection Ordinance,between members of the Council, local milk distributors and Dr. M.E.Mc Donald, milk specialist, from State Department at Sacramento, Ordinance No. 112 ( New Series), An Ordinance Provid for a Milk Inspection Department,was passed to print on motion of Chas Forbes seconded by C.D:I.Carpenter by the following vote: Ayes : W.B.I:Iartin, C.IvI.Carpenter , Geo.1'i.Kilbern, Chas Forbes, L.F.Sinsheimere Noes : None. Absent : None. Following report of Commissioner Chas Forbes as to the condition of the roof of the City Jail , it was moved by W.Bolvlartin and seconded by C,M,Carpenter that the ' Commissioner of.Supplies be authorized to have the said roof repaired in such manner as he deems necessary. The motionccarried. On motion of Geo.!1J.Kilbern seconded by C.Id.Carpenter and carried the ommissioner of Supplies was authorized to supply two or three benches at E1 Triangulo Park, Commissioner C.M.Carpenter informed the Council , verbally, of the resignati, of Police Officer R. Heidorn and stated that Ernest Thompson had been appointed to fill the vacancy temporarily. The reports of the City Collector and Police Judge for the month of March were received, and ordered filed on motion of C.M.Carpenter seconded by Geo *W.Kilbern. Petition received from Warren C. Day. ,. et al, requesting that-Sewer main be provided on Murray Avenue between Grand Avenue and Turner. Avenue, and Park Street to the City Limita. The petition was ordered filed for future reference - to be taken up when funds are available. .. Application a 99 Midland Counties Public Service.Corporation - for permit to set a pole and install anchor approximately 90 ft north east of the corner of Nipomo and Higuera Street was granted on motion of Geo,W.Kilbern seconded by Chas Forbes, provided that the location of the.said pole and its placing is satisfactory to Mr. Brophy. The hereinabove named application is substituted in lieu of application ` #98 .. On motion of GeO.W. Kilbern seconded by Chas_-Forbes Van Schaiek & Me Caughe were granted permit to build a brick wash and grease rack and store room on lot 8 Block 8 ; Structure to be roofed with-galvanized iron - at a cost of $ 350.000 Application was.received from C.D,Stowe and J.A.Robasciotti for permit to install two 7,000 gallon underground gasoline storage tanks in Block 152 Harford Addition- corner Higuera and South Street, Discussion On motion of W,B.Martin seconded ' by Chas Forbes the application was granted with the provision that the installation. of said tanks be in accordance with the code of the International Board of Underwriters and under the direction of the.City Engineer.
