Claims against the City for the month of April. were ordered paid subject to the approval of the heads of the respective departments , on motion of Chas. Forbes seconded by C.M.Carpente.r. Upon favorable report and motion of C.M.Carpenter seconded by Chas. Forbes the applications.of Mrs. A.C.Custer and Ande Holme for permit to hang board signs at 1.361 and 1175 Monterey Street respectively, were granted subject to cancellation. The following applications for permit to build were granted on motion of Chas Forbes seconded by C.M.Carpenter Chris Anholm - Addition to residence Cost 200000 T.A.Hischier - residence lot 6 Block 174 Dallidet Addn " 29500.00 The application of P.J.Pearle for permit to lay 100 ft of 5 ft-park side- calk on the south side of Mil Street between Toro and Essex Street was granted on motion of C.M.Carpenter seconded by Chas Forbes, Application of the Pacific Coast Railway Company for-permit to lay and construct 300 ft of 6 inch concrete driveway on east side of Higuera Street between South 2nd.High Street was granted on motion of C,M.Carpenter seconded by Chas Forbes.­ - - Petition received from John Chapek relative to the-cancellation of a certain sale on lot 16 -Block 186 Ingleside Tract. Discussion On motion of C.M.Carpenter econded by Chas rorbes the matter was continued one week,. - A communication was received from the " Monday•Club" , requesting the Coun o- designate some particular week to be known as " Clean up Week " , at which time all itizens are to be requested to remove weeds and rubbish from their premises. Discussions t was moved by C.Z.Carpenter and seconded by Chas Forbes that the communication be received nd placed on file,- that the Council endorse the request for a " Clean Up Week ", and that uch " Clean up Week" be designated later, after conference between the Monday Club and the ity- represented by the Health Department and the Department of Public Works, The motion arried.
