City Hall, Monday, June lst 1925 - 7 :30.. P.M.
City Council met in regular session- Commissioner Chas Forbes presiding.
Present:C.II.Carpenter, John Chapek, H.E.Cox, Chas Forbes.
Absent : L.F.Sinsheimer.
The minutes of May 18th and 25th were read and approved as read on motion
of H.E.Cox seconded by John Chapek.
On motion of John Chapek seconded by C.M.Carpente.r J.H.Logan was granted
permit for residence on part of lots'5 & 6 Block 50 - same to cost $ 29000.00.
The application of the Pacific Telephone and Telegraph Company for permit
to set a pole on property line at 1196 Islay Street, - on Islay Street between Santa Rosa
and Toro Streets - was granted on motion of H.E.Cox seconded by John Chapek,
The report of.the City Collector for the month of May was received and
ordered filed on motion of C.I.I. Carpenter seconded by John Chapek.
In re. official Bond of Police Judge R.L.Perry : The City Attorney
advised that the said Bond was sufficient in form and it was moved by C.PI.Carpente r and
seconded by H.E.Coz that the said Bond be approved The motion carried.
It was Noted by C.M.Carpenter and seconded by H.B.Cox that the several
recently appointed City officers be requested to furnish new Bonds. The motion carried.
The request of Police Judge R.L.Perry for permission to leave the City f
for a vacation..coveri.ng..- period June 8th to June 30th was granted on motion of C.M.Carpe
seconded by H.E.Cox,
Claims against the City for the month of May were ordered paid on motion
C.M.Carpenter seconded by John Chapek, subject to the approval of the heads of the
respective departments,
Ordinance No. 113 ( New Series ) ', An Ordinance amending section 55 of
Ordinance No 76 ( New Series ) relative �o license for Laundries was finally passed on
motion of C.II.Carpenter seconded by H.E.Cox by the following vote :
Ayes C.I:I.Carpenter , John Chapek, H.E.Cox , Chas Forbes.
Noes : None.
Absent : L.F.Sinsheimer.
In re petition of J.T.Anderson for permit to place a concrete culvert on
premises in block-.175 Loomis Addition: The City Engineer reported favorably on the
matter and it was moved by John Chapek and seconded by C.M.Carpenter that the petition
The granted . The motion carried.
Commissioner of Public Health and Safety reported favorably on the
application of Chas S. Masterson for license for Tea Room at 1128 Chorro Street, and on
his motion seconded by H.E.Cox the application was granted.
Ordinance No 114 ( New Series ) An Ordinance amending Section 2 of
Ordinance No. 92 ( New Seri -as ) relative to the Parking of Vehicles , was introduced and
passed to print on motion of H.E.Cox seconded by C,11.Carpenter by the following vote
Ayes : C.II.Carpenter , John Chapek, H.E. Cox , Chas Forbes
Noes : None .
Absent : L.F.Sinsheimer. e
It was moved by C.IT.Carpenter and seconded by John Chapek that. the matter
of the contract with the Cpunty Health Unit be deferred for one week. Iilotion carried.
On motion of C,II.Carpenter seconded by John Chapek the meeting adjourned to
onday, June 8j;h at 7:30 P.M.
