Present : C.M.Carpenter, John Chapek, H.E.Cox, Chas Forbes.. Absent : L.F.Sinsheimer. The following applications for permit to build were granted on motion of H.E.Cox seconded by John Chapek : C.Mr.Carpenter - Residence Ely 75 ft lot 1 Block 41 Cost $ 3,700.00 Antone Ruda - Service Station part lot 1 Block 114 Reeds Addn " 19000.00 On motion of John Chapek seconded by C.M.Carpenter the application -of C.A. Vreeland for Sewer connection on Palm Street between Johnson Avenue and Ida Street was granted. The report of the Police Judge for the month of May was received and order filed on motion of C.M.Carpenter seconded by H.E.Cox. Petition received from P.A.H..Arata, et.al., requesting that Buchon Street between Osos Street and Essex Street be paved with six inch unsurfaced concrete; that curbs and walks be laid where lacking; that the work be done under the Improvement Acts of 1911 and 1915. Discussion. It was moved by C.M.Carpenter and seconded by H.E.Cox that the City Engineer be requested to prepare plans and specifications for the above work and present to the Council, together with the plans and specifications for that part of Buchon Street between Nipomo and Osos Street already petitioned for The motion carried. Upon suggestion of Commissioner Chas Forbes , it was moved by C.I:I.Carpenter and seconded by John Chapek that Vice President of the Council Chas Forbes, wire a message of sympathy to I,Iayor L.F.Sinsheimer, who is detained'.in San Francisco on'-account of the illness of-his Mother. Commissioner Chas Forbes suggested to the Council that it might be well for the City of San Luis Obispo to acquire a certain tract of Government land which lies adjacent to a tract of land owned by the City in Reservoir Canon, Discussion. It was moved by C.LI.Carpenter and seconded by H.E.Cox that the City Attorney and the City Engineer be requested to determine the situation relative to securing additional governmen� land adjoining City property in Reservoir Canon and report to the Council. Motion carried. It was moved by C.M.Carpenter and seconded by John Chapek that the matter of the Health Unit Contract be deferred to the next meeting. Motion carried. City r�gineer L.W.Moore presented a map and estimates of cost for the proposed extension of culvert at the intersection of Broad and Leff Streets. Discussion. Commissioner H.E.Cox was delegated to interview adjacent property owners to ascertain whether they would contribute toward the expense of said culvert and report to the Council at the next meeting. There was discussion relative to the matter of opening Murray Avenue from Grand Avenue to Kentucky Avenue. On motion of John Chapek seconded by H.H. Cox the meeting adjourned.
