City Council met in adjourned session - Commissioner Chas Forbes presidin Present : C.IaI.Carpentar , John Chapek, H.E.Cox, Chas Forbes. Absent L.F.Sinsheimer. The following applications for permit to build were granted on motion of H.E.Cox seconded by John Chapek : Ada S Prefumo - Garage lot 10 Block 87 Mission Vineyard Tract Addie N. Farrington - Garage lot 12 Block 4 Central Addn Chris N. Kunkle = Residence pt Lot 6 Block 48 Hilton Zylicz - Garage pt lot 6 & 7 Block 1 Hathway Addn Margaret S. King - Garage pt lot 2 Block 5 Buena Vista Addn Home Laundry Co - To remove a building from lot 1 Block 5 to lot 13 Block 101 1.I.V. Addn to be used as a garage. Cost 125900 It 175.00 " 1,800.00 " 75.00 " 50.00 The application of L.T. Curtright for license for Cigars sideline at the Blackstone Hotel was referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for report on motion of H.E.Cox seconded by John Chapek. The merchandising Bond of Chris Ti. Kunkle, Surety J.H.Henry, was approved on motion of C.M.Carpenter seconded by John Chapek. The application_ of the Union Oil Company for permit to replace a bole ( Telephone ) on17onterey Street between Essex and.Johnson_ Street was granted on motion of H.E.Cox seconded by John Chapek. The application of I;Iaddalena Co.for permit to hang an Electric Sign at 645 Higuera Street , and a steel sign at 647 Higuera Street was referred to the Commissi of Public Health and Safety for report on motion of E.E.Cox seconded by John Chapek. The report of the City Treasurer for the month of Inlay was received.and ordered filed on motion of H.E.Cox seconded by John Chapek. The Official Bonds of J.C. James and Leon 1. Zoore, City Treasurer and Superintendent of Streets respectively, were presented City Attorney advised.that same were sufficient in form and it was moved by H.E.Cox and seconded by John Chapek that the said Bonds be accepted. The motion carried. This being the date set for the receiving.of Bids for the legal advertisin of the City for the fiscal year July lst 1925 to June 30th 1926, as set forth in the call for bids under date of June 22d - the following is a list of all bids submitte=d:: Tribune Printing Co -- In accordance with terms of notice for bids : Advertising in the Morning Tribune in 8 point type, solid, 13 em columns, for 251 per solid nonpareil square of 234 ems, for first insertion and 201 per square fox each subsequent insertion. Thb' Heir Ald Publishing Eompany submitted three bids as follows ; Daily Telegram - Notices to be published in the Daily Telegram and to be set in 6 point solid type, at the rate of 60� per legal aquare of 234 ems. Morning Herald - Notices to be published in the Morning Herald and to be set in 6 point solid type, at.the rate of 251 per legal square of 234 ens. Daily Record - Notices to be published in the Daily Record and to be set in 6 point solid type, at the rate of 10i per square of 234 ems. Discussion On motion of C.IS.Carpenter seconded by H.E.Cox the awarding of the contract for the legal printing was deferred for one week. Commissioner C.M.Carpenter reported favorably relative to the application of Armand P I:iotto Ros for permit to hang an electric sign at the Blackstone Hotel on Monterey Street and on his motion seconded by John Chapek the application was granted. 13 r
