City Council met in adjourned session - Mayor L.F.Sinsheimer presiding..
Present C.LT.Carpenter,_John Chapek, H.E.Cox, Chas Forbes, L.F.Sinsheimer.
Absent None.
The following applications for permit to build were granted on motion of
John Chapek seconded by H.E.Cox:
S.A.Call - Repairs to Residence pt lot 2 & 3 Block 1. Cost 1,000.00
J.L.Farley - New Roof & foundation lot 7 Block 201 Dallidet Addn " 200.00
A.B.2artin - Residence part of Sec 26 " 3,500100
On motion of H.E.Cox seconded by John Chapek the following applications for
permit to connect with the City Sewer were granted:
C.N.Kumkle - Islay Street between High and Carmel Street.
C.D.-Richardson - Higuera Street between iJipomo Street aid Carmel Street.
The applications of the San Luis Furniture Company for permit to hang an
Electric Sign at 855 Io-larsh Street and of L.T.Curtright for permit to hang a galvanized
iron'sigri 6 x 16 ft across the top of the building at 844 l onterey Street ( Blackstone
Hotel ), were referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for investigation
and report, on motion of Chas Forbes seconded by H.E.Cox.
The application of .A.17.Burns for license for Soft Drinks at 859 I.Ionterey
Street was referred , on motion of Chas Forbes seconded by H.E.Cox to the Commissioner
of Public Health and Safety for report.
The official Bonds of I: -Irs. Annie I3. Lille" and 17illiam Duddleson, City Collet
and Chief of Police respectively, were received. It was moved by Chas Forbes and
seconded by H.E.Cox that the said. Bonds be approved. with the understanding that the Bond of
the Chief.of Police be made technically correct. The motion carried.
The report of the City Clerk for the month of June was received and ordered
filed on motion of C.M. Carpenter seconded by Chas Forbes._
A communication from the Chamber of Commerce was read in which it.was request
that the Council appoint a committee of three from this City to meet with representatives
of other
communities of
the County,to form
a County
Committee,and devise ways and means for
raising
funds for Santa
Barbara 'Relief.
It was
moved by Chas Forbes, seconded by
H.E.Cox and carried that the I,Iayor appoint such a committee.
In re application of . :S.Id. Glover for license to operate kennels within the
City. Discussion On motion of C.M.Carpenter seconded by Chas Forbes the City
Attorney was directed to investigate the Ordinances of other Cities in re operation of
kennels and report to the Council.
City -=Ingineer L.W.Moore filed the following summary of the various Bids
received July 20th. for the construction of Sewer Extension Division " M " under the 1925
Sewer Bond Issue c

It vias moved by John. Chapek and seconded by-H.E.Cox that the awarding of the
,lontract for Sewer Extension -Division ".L " be laid over to the next meeting. The motion

Resolution No, 182 ( i;ew Series ) 2 Resolution_ acceptinc Pecds from
Lewin and Annie Lelivir_, Elmer A. Forbes and =,velyr_ ICI. Forbes, :ntoni o de.la .Rosa :;and
red L. Garrett and .Florence V. Garrett , dated July 14th., 20th. and 24th respectively,
onveying to the City of San Luis Obispo certain Sewer rights of 11ay, was introduced and
dopted, on motion of Chas Forbes seconded by H.E.Cox, by the following vote:

The matter of the parkin` Ordinance was again taken up and discussed at length
etween members of the Council and local merchants. - It was moved by C.E.Carpenter,
econded by aohn Chapek and unamiously carried, that the City attorney bring in an Ordinanc
ealing the present Parking Ordinance.
Conslnissioner of Public Health and Safety reported favorably upon the applicati
Cline's Electric Shop for permit to-1ang Electric Signs at the Hotel ItiIidway, 995 Higuera
treet, and at the Ford Garage 1101 Iplonterey Street, and on his motion seconded by
lahas Forbes the applications were granted.
City Engineer presented plans and specifications for Beebee Street Storm Drain
and the following Resolutions in connection therewith were read by the City Attorney:
Resolution No, 183 ( New Series ) , A Resolution -directing the City Engineer to
furnish Plans , profiles and specifications for the improvement of certain portions of
Beebee, High, Walker, Pismo and Higuera Streets, in the City of San Luis Obispo and a
right of way owned by -said City, was introduced and adopted on motion of Chas Forbes
seconded by H.E.Cox by the following vote:
Ayes : C.IvI.Carpenter,- John Chapek, H.E.Cox, Chas Forbes, L.F.Sinsheimer.
Noes : None.
