City Hall, !vIonday, August 10th 1925 - 7 :30 P.111.
City Council met in adjourned session.- 1.1 a- L.r.Sinsheirner presiding.
Present : John Chapek, H.B.Cox, Chas Forbes, L.F.Sinsheimer.
Absent : C.M.Carnenter.
The following applications for permit to bilild. were granted on motion of
H.E.Cox seconded by John Chapek:

The application of Adams & Maha for permit to recess curb of sidewalk for a
distance of 16 feet on the north side of I:Ionterey Street between Santa Rosa and Osos Stree
was granted on motion of H.E.Coz seconded by Chas Forbes.
The application of J. -L.Anderson for permit to tear up and replace sidewalk
at the corner of I,Ionterey and dlorro Street was deferred , on motion of H. .Gox seconded by
Chas Forbes , until the-Council receives a report from the City Bngir_eer relative to same.
The application of F.'I.Leitcher for sewer connection of Higuera Street betwee:
Idipomo Street and Carmel Street was granted on motion of Chas Forbes seconded by H.E.Co4.
The application of the Blackstone Hotel for permit to place a Board Sign_

Public Health and Safety for reports on motion of Chas Forbes seconded by John Chapek.
The application of the Standard Oil Company for permit to hang an Electric

referred , o-n motion of Chas Forbes seconded b John Cha e the s Public Commissioner
Health and Safety for report.
The application of Ringling Bros & Barnum & Baileys Circus for license for
Circus September 10th was received and referred to the Commissioner of Public Health
and Safety for report on motion of H.F,.Cox seconded by Chas Forbes.
The report of the City Clerk for the month of July was received and ordered
filed on motion of Chas Forbes seconded by H.R.Cox.
On motion of H.B.Cox seconded by John Chapek Ordinance No. 115 ( New Series)
was left over to the next meeting for further consideration.
On motion of Chas Forbes seconded by H.E.Cox the following licenses were
ordered cancelled:

In re Bids for Sewer tension Division " M TM which were received July 20th.:
It was moved by Chas Forbes and seconded by E,E.Cox that the contract be
awarded to l•'I.J.Tobin , be being the lowest and best bidder. The motion carried.

On motion of H.F.Cox seconded by John Chapek it was ordered that the certified
checks which accompanied the bids of the unsuccessful bidders be returnedp Motion carried.
On motion of Chas Forbes seconded by John Chapek the matter of "Skating on
sidewalks " was referred to the Police Department.
On motion of.H.B.Cox seconded by Chas Forbes the meeting adjourned.
