Petition received from Douglas Patton et al., calling attention to the unimpr ondition of the crossings of the Southern Pacific Railroad Company on Higuera Fuld Marsh ets and requesting the Council to take action - relative to same. Applications for the regular quarterly licenses were received and referred to e Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for investigation and report on motion of 1.E.Cox seconded by John Chapek. Upon favorable report and motion of C.IvI.Carpenter seconded by H.E.Cox, I,Irs. Adele Brovelli was granted permit to hang an Electric Sign at 979 Osos Street. Upon favorable report and motion of C.IrI.Carpenter seconded by H.E.Cox , Mrs. Adele Brovelli was granted license for Lodging House at 979 0808 Street ( Plaza Hotel). Upon favorable report and motion of C.M.Carpenter seconded by H.E.Cox Addison Q.Chong was granted license for Restaurant at 789 Palm Street. Applications of I:irs. A.G.Bryan for license for Lldse ( Confect,Lunch,Soft Drinks) etc.; also Cigars Sideline at 1122 Morro Street , were granted on favorable report and notion of C.LI.Carpenter seconded ky H.E.Cox. Application of the Universal By - Products Co for permit to install and operate a 50 H.P. boiler at 1127 Nipomo Street was granted on motion of C.LI.Carpenter seconded by 3.E.Cox , with the provision that the same be installed under the supervision of the Jity Engineer. 0 3 It was moved by C.1vI.Carpenter and seconded by H.E.Cox that the City Collector ascertain what lines of business are operating without a license and report to the Council. Applications of Foster Kleiser Co for permit to erect advertising sign Boards at locations as set forth in minutes of March 8th. were granted, on motion of C.M.Carpente seconded by H.F.Cox,with the exception of the application for sign Board on Chorro Street. This application was laid over for one week. On motion of C.M.Carpenter seconded by H.E.Cox the matter of the payment of license by O.S.Sellers and Tercis & Tyler was continued one week. Resolution No. 191 ( New Series ) ; A Resolution Adopting Plans and Specificat- ions for the Improvement of a portion of Buchon Street in the City of San Luis Obispo was adopted on motion of H.E.Cox seconded by John Chapek by the following vote: Ayes : C..II.Carpenter, John Chapek, H.E.Cox, Chas Forbes. Noes : None. Absent : L.F.Sinsheimer. It was moved by C.Ir1.Carpenter and seconded by John.Chapek that the City Engineer furnish the Council with plans and specifications for the Improvement of the following Streets Mill Street between Chorro and Ida Street; Santa Roaa Street from Monterey to Sycamore etc. Sidewalk and curbing on Higuera Street between Osos and Santa Rosa Street both sides, where not already laid, also, on Santa Rosa Street between Higuera and Monterey Street, where not already laid, also on Peach Street from Santa Rosa Street to-Toro Street and from Peach Street to Hathway Avenue on Toro Street. Motion carried. Commissioner H.E.Cox was delegated to look after sanitary conditions at the Auto Camp Grounds. continued. Matter in re Monday Club signs deferred one week.
