Present : C.M.Carpente:r, John Chapek, H.E.Cox, Chas Forbes, L.F.Sinsheimer. Absent None, The minutes of Kst 3d and 10th were read and approved as read on motion of H.E.Cox seconded by C.Id.Carpenter. The application of Vha, and Charlotte Ortiz for permit to build a residence ' and Garage on part of lot 6 Block 26 at a cost of $' 2,300.00, was granted on motion of H.E.Cox seconded by C.M.Carpenter, with the provision that the contractor E.D.Bray take a license for contracting. The following applications for permit to build were granted on motion of H.E.Cox seconded by John Chapek: Francis J. Rhyne - Residence lot G Block 19 Central Addn Cost 29200.00 R.Bassi - Addition of Room Block 30 Cost . 150.00 On motion of H.E.Cox seconded by John Chapek the following applications for permit to connect with the City Sewer were granted: Lirs. Emilita Lyman - Buchon Street between Osos and Santa Rosa Street. 47.B.Fitzpatrick - Buchon Street between Morro and Chorro Street. In re matter of City Sewer connections for property owners on Buchon Street between Morro and Chorro Street, whose premises are.now drained by private sewers: Discussion On motion of C.Li.Carpenter seconded by Chas Forbes the matter was referr to the City Attorney to investigate and report legal status to the Council. At the invitation of the Council a delegation of property owners on Dill Stree between Osos: and Ida Streets were present in re proposition to reduce width of Mill Street between curbs from 40 to 30 feet and thus 1Bave a parkway of about loft on either side of the Street. A petition signed by Alice A. Truesdale et al, requesting that no change be made in the manner of paving Mill Street; that said Street be paved from curb to curb with unsurfaced cement concrete six inched in thickness as set forth in the original petition, was presented. Another.petition was presented,.by Annie B.Lynch et al, withdrawing signatures from petition for the paving of I,IM Street between Osos and Santa Rosa Street. I1atter discussed at length and without objection was continued. Petition of the Chamber of Commerce of IeIorro .for permit to suspend an Electric Sign over Monterey Street at lanta Rosa Street, the purpose of said sign to direct traffic to Morro, was before the Council. Latter discussed and on motion of-H.E.Cox seconded by Chas Forbes the same was referred to the Commissioner of Public Health-and Safety for report. . 1 The report of the City Clerk for the month of April was received and ordered filed on motion of C.1,1.0arpenter seconded by Chas Forbed. - The petition of J.R.Robasciotti for transfer of license for Soft Drinks and Cigars Sideline at 87511onterey. Street to Joe 1.1oranda and P,. Reeves was granted on favorabl ' report and.motion of C.M.Carpenter seconded-by John Chapek, Applications of A.Bolla for license for Billiards and Pool, Soft Drinks and Cigars Sideline at 890 Monterey Street were denied upon unfavbrable report and motion of C.H.Carpenter seconded by Chas Forbes, Petition of C.H.Reed Co for permit to remove and electric sign from 960 Lonterey Street to 857 Monterey Street was granted on favorable report.and motion of C.LI.Carpenter secanded by Chas Forbes.
