City Hall, 1.Ionday, June 14th 1926 - 7 :30 P.I: ?,
City Council met in adjourned session - Vice President of the Council
Chas Forbes presiding.
Present : C.1,.i1.Carj?enter, John Chapek, H.11.Cox, Chas.Forbes.
Absent L.F.Sinsheimer.
The following applications for permit to build were granted on motion of
H.E.Cox seconded by C.Y.Carpenter:
Carlos Serrano - residence North Broad Street Cost 3,000.00
F.hirpo = Apartment House ( 2 Apts) part of Block 56 " 4,000.00
On motion of H.E.Cox seconded by John Chapek the following applications for
permit to connect with the City Sewer were granted :
Mrs. Irene J. Carpenter - Buchon Street between Chorrro and I:iorro Street.
Elizabeth Hoover - Santa Barbara Avenue between High and Broad Street.
Petition of C.-K.Cook for permit to hang an electric sign ( 4 ft by 6 ft ) to
extend across the sidewalk at 1005 I:Ionterey Street was referred to the Commissioner of
Public Health and Safety for investigation and report on motion of H.E.Com seconded by
John Chapek.
Petition of Yinta B. 1,1eisse for permit to hang a sign ( 18" b-r 4 ft ) at
983 Chorro Street , Levin Building, was referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and
Safety for report on motion of H..-Z.-.Cox seconded by John Chapek.
On motion of H.E.Cox seconded by John Chapek the application of Home Garage
( A.J.Deleissigues & Hugo Roeder ) for license for Garage at 1005 Toro Street was referre
to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for report.
Application of RGIA.Lubian for license for Billiards and Pool in C.A.I:hino
building on Palm Street , was referred to the Cor. =issioner of Public Health and Safety for
report on motion of H.E.Cox seconded by John Chapek.
A delegation from the I;Ionday Club was present and presented a petition
offering to the City of San Luis Obispo, two Electric Signs, one for the north and one for
the south entrance to:the City. Said signs to bear the name " San Luis Obispo" in
exterior lighted letters, and requesting that the City bear the e- =eiise of maintenance,
at an approximate upkeep, consisting of lighting, six hours per day, and lamp renewals, of
40.00 per month. Discussion. It was moved by C.II.Carpenter and seconded by
H.E.Cox that the City accept the tender of the Monday Club for two Electric Signs. The
motion carried.
On motion of H.E..Gox seconded by John Chapek the petition of the Monday Club
for permit to erect Trio Electric Signs, one at the south and ore at the north entrance to
the City, was referred to the Cormissioner of Public Health and Safety for report.
The applications of the Granite Construction Company for permit to build a
w --rehouse on lot 18 Block 186 Ingleside Tract and of rosterr:leiser Company for permit to
erect bill boards in Block 3 of 1.1c Brides Tract were continued one week.
On favorable report and motion of C.IJ.Carpenter seconded by H.E.Cox the
application of'the Granite Rock ComioP y for permit to place a board sign 10 x 25 feet on
the Bunkers of the Granite Hock Compar!y on Santa Barbara Avenue, was granted.
On favorable report and motion of C.I::.Carnenter seconded by H.E.Cox the
following petitions for transfer of licenses were granted:
West Side Auto ':lrecking Co. ,Allison cc Schuyler- Junk Dealer 1229 Islontere -% Street to
H.S. 8C G.E. Bunnell.
