City Council met in-adjourned session - Vice President of the Council
Chas Forbes presiding.
Present : C.L.Carpenter, H.E.Cox , Chas Forbes..
Absent John Chapek , l:iayor h.i .9insheimer.
The following applications for permittto build were granted on motion of
H.E.Cox seconded by C.LI.Carpenter:

Application of Alfred Williamson for permit to connect with the City Sever on
Ella Street between Johnson :venue and Ruth Street was granted In motion of H.E.Cox
seconded by C1:I.Carpenter.
The application of ldrs Ida Castator for license for- : -'estaurar_t at 895 Higuera
Street was referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and .5afety for investigation and
report on motion of H.E.Cox seconded by C.L4.Carpenter.
The applications of J.E.Price for licenses for Pool Table and Soft Drinks at
1819 Osos Street mere referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for report
on notion of H.E.Cox seconded by C.LI.Carpenter..
On motion of H.E.Cox seconded by C.M.-Carpenter the following merchandising Bo:
sere approved and the sureties in each case accepted:

Reports of the City Clerk and City* Treasurer for the month of June were receiv
and ordered filed on motion of C.1I.0arpgnter seconded.by H.E.Cox.
Resignation of W.J.Duddleson as Chief of rolice of the City of San Luis Obispo,
to become effective August 31st] was received, and on motion of C.r:I.Carpenter seconded by
n.E.Cox was ordered,on
Petition received from residents of the Terrace Hill District praying for the
opening of Ruth Street under the Southern Pacific R.R.Co's right of way 'Discussion,
On motion of C.LI.Carpenter seconded by H.E.Cox the petition was ordered on file -and the
matter referred to the Commissioner of Public Works and the City* Engineer for report to
the Council two ,weeks hence.
S.V.I'Yright representing the Stockholders of the Exposition Park addressed the
Council and offered the. tract.of land, comprising some 80 acres, to the City of San Luis
Obispo, to be used as.a Public Park, for a consideration of $ 259000.00. Discussion.
It was moved by C.Lr.Carpenter and seconded by H.B.Cox that the tender of the corporation
be received and placed on file.
Applications of Iff.E.Berghart and B.B.Edwards for licenses for Soft Drinks,
Cigars Sideline and Dancing Privilege at 1085 Higuera Street, Kaiser Building, were ersnted
on favorable report and motion Jf C.M.Carpenter seconded by H.E.Cox , as was also the
applications of James Elston and Chas. 11.I.1arks for licenses for Auctioneer, at 888 1klonterey
10zlication of 1.H. Broadhurst for permit to remove a building from lot 15
Block.2 Arlington Addition to part of lot 2 Block 72 was denied on,motion of H.E.Cox second
by C.1.1.Carpenter.
On motion of L.E.Cox seconded by C.I,I.Carpenter the meeting adjourned.
