City Hall, Monday, October 4th 1926 - 7 :30 P.M.
City Council met in regular session --Vice President of the Council
Chas Forbes presiding.
Present : C.Is.Carpenter, John Chapek, H.E.Cox, Chas Forbes.
Absent : Mayor L.F.Sinsheimer.
The minutes of September -20th and 27th were read and approved as read on moti
of H.E.Cox seconded by John Chapek.
On motion of H.E.Cox seconded by John Chapek the following applications for
permit to build were granted :

Application of Albert Nelson for permit to remove a Barn-from lot 1 Block 81
to lot 5 Block 76 and build addition to same was granted on motion of H.E.Cox. seconded -by
John Chapek.
Application of Alfred Mackie for permit to remove a garage from property line,
60 ft to the rear, Lot 2 Block 152.Harford Addition, granted on motion of John Chapek
seconded by H.E.Cox.
On.motion of H.E.Cox seconded by John Chapek the application.of R.A.Lubian for
license for Lunch Counter at 885 Palm Street was referred to the Commissioner -of Public.
Health and Safety for investigation and report to the Council.

Application of Benj..Seith for permit to cut pavement on Santa Rosa Street
between. Peach Street and Hathway Avenue for. purpose of .lowering sewer connection was
granted on motion of H.E.Cox seconded by John Chapek.
Petition of V.W.Giddings. for permit to..replace.electric signs at corner Chorro
and Higuera Street ( City Pharmacy ) with an Electric Sign 9 x 2 ft. -to extend over side-
walk was referred to the...Commissioner of Public.Health.and Safety for report on motion of
H.E.Cox seconded by John.Chapek.
Petition of Joe Lioranda for.permit to transfer his interest in the licenses
for Lunch Counter, Soft..Drinks and.Cigars Sideline issued to 111oranda & Reeves , 875 1.1onte
Street, to R.S.Jones was referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for
investigation and reoprt on motion of.H.E.Cox_ seconded by John Chapels
The reports of the City Collector, Police Judge and Pound Master for the month
of September were received and ordered filed on motion of C.II.Carpenter seconded by
John Chapek.
On motion of C.M.Carpenter seconded by John Chapek the application -�of B.J.Dill
for appointment as Police Judge was received. and ordered filed.•
Representatives pf the Hotel interests_of the City were present to discuss,
with the Council, the matter of an Orrinance prohibiting soliciting of custom or patronage
on the streets or other public places. On motion of C,E.Carpenter seconded by H.E.Cox
the matter was referred to the City Cttorney ; he to obtain copies of ordinances in effect
in other Cities, and present draft of such an Ordinance to the Council at an early date.
On motion of H.B.Cox seconded by C.M.Carpenter the matter of the protest of
Er. Vinson relative to a certain fence, was referred to the Chief of Police for investigati
and-report to the Council.
