City Hall, - Monday, October 25th 1926 - 7 :30 2.1I.
City Council met in adjourned session - Vice President of the Council
Chas Forbes presiding.
Present C.11.0arpenter , John Chapek, H.E.Cox Chas Forbes.
Absent : Mayor L.F.Sinsheimer.
The following applications for permit to build were granted on motion of H.E.
seconded by John Chapek:
Grant I. Hansen - Rebuild Garage lots 3 & 4 Block 6 Wa ills Addition Cost 60000
Residence part lot 1 Block 52
Cost. 11,500000
On motion of H.E.Cox seconded by John Chapek the following applications for
permit to lay sidewalk and curbing were granted:
. Catherine Vlineman - 92 ft full width sidewalk on the South side of Higuera Street
between Chorro and Morro Street.
th F. Skiles - 171 ft 5.ft park.sidewalk and curbing on the East side Higuera S
between Marsh and Pacific Street.
Schlegel - 50 ft 5 ft park sidewalk and curbing on the hest side Higuera Stref
Block 61 .
58 ft 5 ft park sidewalk and curbing on the l'lest side Higuera
Street Block 61.
169 ft 5 ft park sidewalk and curbing on the best side Higuera
Street Block 61.
The petition of CeW,Brown at al for Street light at corner of Price and High
Streets, was referred to the Commissioner of Public Works for report on motion of
John Chapek seconded by C.DI.Carpenter.
On motion of H.E.Cox seconded by John Chapek the petition of E.B. Burriss for
transfer of license for service Station at High and Higuera Streets to Fred C. Kimball and
C.S,Westfall was referred to.the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for report.
The Official Bond of A.H.Brazil as Police Judge, Surety Fidelity and Deposit
Company of Maryland, was accepted and approved on motion of C.M.Carpenter seconded by H.E.C(
The report of the City Treasurer for the month of September was received and
ordered filed on motion of John Chapek seconded by C.M.Carpentere
the report of Acting Police Judge William Mallagh for the period - October let.
to and including October 25th. was received and ordered filed on motion of C.M.Carpenter
seconded by H.E.Cox..
In re complaints Street Noises : Discussion; On motion of C.M.Carpente:
seconded by H.E.Cox the City Attorney was requested to bring draft of Ordinance for the
next meeting.
C.L.Slusher appeared and presented a Map showing a proposed change in the
position of Ilinor Street. Discussion. On motion of C.M.Carpenter seconded by H.E.Co2
the City Attorney was directed to bring draft of Ordinance for a change in the position of
the said Street as petitioned for.
The petition of J.W.Collier for permit to build a Garage on lot 7 Block 136
Phillips Addition was granted on motion of H.E.Cox seconded by John Chapek.
The application of J.H.Logan for permit to remove two buildings from lots 1 & 2
Block 116 Reeds Addition to lots 6 & 7 of the same Block was granted on motion of H.E.-Cox
seconded by John Chapek.
On favorable report and motion of C.M.Carpenter seconded by H.E.Cox the applioat
ion of Foster & Kleiser Company for permit to erect a sign board on Marsh Street, 100 feet
east of the southeasterly corner. of Marsh and Broad Streets, lot 1 Block 67, was granted.
