In re Salaries : Discussion. It was moved-by Chas Forbes -and seconded by
H.E. Cox that a committee of three be appointed by the Ida or to investigate and adjust
salaries of City Employees, not already taken care of by former action of the Council,
and report to the Council at the next regular meeting. Motion carried. Following is
the personnel of the Committee named by the Mayor Vice President of the Council Chas Forbes,
Commissioner of Supplies, John Chapek and Mayor :L.F.Sinsheimer.
On motion of C.M.Carpenter seconded byJohn Chapek the meeting adjourned to
Monday, November 8th at 7 :30 P.LI.

presiding.

On motion of H.E.Cox seconded by C.LI.Carpenter the application of & W,Iinebarger
for permit to.build a garage on lot 12 Block 115 Murray and Church Addition -at a Cost at
... ..
65.00 was granted.
On motion of C,M.Carpenter seconded by H.E.Cox the application of F.C.Limball fo'
permit to turn Sarvice Station at Junction -of Higuera, High and Pismo Streets to face
Higuera Street and remodel same, also to change position of Gas Tanks, was referred to the
Commissioner of Public Works for report to the Council.
The applications of Herrera Bros. for license for Cigar Store at 862 Lonterey Str et,
and of A.E.Tobey gor licenses for Cigar Store and Soft Drinks at 879 Monterey Street were
referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for investigation and report on
motion of H.E.Cok seconded by C.M.Caipenter.'
On motion of.H.E.Cox- seconded by C.ItiI.Carpenter the application.:of F.T.Takumi for
permit to hang an Electric Sign ( 9 x 4 ft ) at 866 Palm Street was referred to the
Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for report, as was also the application of E.E.Bur iss
for permit to install an Air Unit at the curb line at 737 Iiarsh Street.
The Lderdhandising Bond of O.F.Vail, Surety Sun Indemnity Company of New York -,
was received, and on motion of C.M.Carrenter seconded by H.E.Cox the same was accepted and
approved.
Petition of C.L.Slusher praying for the abandonment of- Idinor Street and the
establishing of a Street in lieu thereof , 120 feet northerly of said Minor Street, together
with the written consent of property owners'fronting.on Minor Street as the same now exists,
was received and ordered.placed on file on motion of'C.M.Carpenter seeonded.by H.E.Cox.
