D.Alphin - Santa Barbara Avenue between Leff and Church Street. Thos. Fogarty - Stub Sewer connection lower Higuera Street. C.J.!Veir Jr. - Hitchell Drive west of South Broad Street. The application of the Santa I:iaria Gas Company for permit to.lay 200.feet of Gas main on Morro Street between Pacific and Pismo Street to serve Home Laundry was grantee on Notion of H.E.Cox seconded by John Chapek with the provision that the work be done under the supervision of the City Engineer. Application of the I.1idland Counties Public Service Corporation 123 for permit to set a new pole , to replace a broken one on Santa Barbara Avenue at Church Street was granted on motion of H.E.Cox seconded by John Chapek. On motion of ii.E.Cox seconded by C.1id.Carpenter , with the provision that the work be done under the supervision of the City Engineer, the Andrews Estate was permitted to lay a 6" storm drain under sidewalk at 968 IJonterey Street for the purpose of draining flood water from the rear of building. The petition of liartin and Hustel for permit to install an additional gasoline storage tank of 550 gal, capacity with pump, also, to change position of one pump at servi station corner of 1.1arsh and Osos Streets was granted , work to be done under the supervisi of the City Engineer, The petition of Cosby and laaddalena for permit to install four (4) gasoline storage tanks of 550 gal. capacity at new service station corner Ripomo and Marsh Streets was granted on motion of H.E.Cox seconded by John Chapek with the usual provision. The petition of the Viestern Auto Supply Company for permit to place a Stand painted roof Bulletin on top of I-dathews and Carpenter building, cor Higuera @nd Idorro Sts, was referred to the Commissioner of Public Works for report on motion of Chas Forbes seconded by C.I:i.Carpenter. Application of J.L.Anderson for permit to place an electric sign on top of the Anderson Hotel building,and also electric signs above liarquees at either entrance to the Hotel building was granted on motion of C.I:I.Carpenter seconded by Chas Forbes,subject to usual provisions. On motion of C.1.1.0arpenter seconded by H.E.Cox the following applications for the position of Traffic Officer were received and ordered placed on file: R.L.Dennis - 740 Higuera Street . Edward A. Inc Rae - 1174 Islay Street, Manuel Herrera - 1144 Harsh -Street. Hike•A.Freitas - San Luis Obispo. It was.moved by Chas Forbes and seconded by H.E.Cox that the Commissioner of ZRblic Health and Safety be emopwered to employ a Traffic Officer temporarily when he deems neeessary. The motion carried. E The reports of the City Clerk and City Treasurer for the month of October and those of the City Collector, Police Judge and round I�Iaster for the month of November were received and ordered filed on motion of C.M.Cerpenter seconded by Chas Forbes. A.communication from the Southwest Paving Company, Inc., was read , in which it was requested that the Council grant the said Southwest Paving Company an extension of - Sixty (60) days time to the contract for the Buchon Street Paving Project, as per Resolution of Intention No. 195 ( New Series). Discussion. On motion of H.E.Cox seconded by Chas Forbes the request was granted. Claims against the City for the month of November were ordered paid subject to 1 the approval of the heads of the respective departments on motion of Chas r'orbes seconded by John Chapek. On favorable report and motion of H.E.Cox seconded by C.1:1.Carpenter the application of F.C.l:imball for permit to turn Service Station at High and higuera Street to face Higuer Street, and remodel same, also change position of gas tank, was granted. On favorable report and motion of C.Id.Carpenter seconded by Chas i'orbes the petition of E.E.Burriss for permit to install an Air unit at 737 l::arsh Street was granted. The petition of F.T.Takumi for permit to hang an electric sign at 866 Palm Street was granted on favorable teport and motion of C.I:I.Carpenter seconded by Chas Forbes with the usual provision. Commissioner of Public Health and Safety, C.I.I.Carpenter, reported unfavorably on the applications of A. ".Tobey for license for Soft Drinks and Cigars Sideline at 879 Llonterey Street, and on his notion seconded by Chas Forbes the applications were denied. The application of Herrera Bros for license for Cigar Store at 862 Lontere-: Street was granted on favorable report and motion of C.Iu.Carpenter seconded by Chas Formes.
