City Council met in regular session - Vice President of the Council Chas Forbes
presiding.
Present : John Chapek, H.E.Cox, Chas Farbes.
Absent : C.H.Carpenter, llayor"L.F.:Sinsheimer.
On motion of John Chapek seconded by H.L.Cox the meeting adjourned to MTonday,
April 25th at 7 :30 P.S.

motion of Chas Forbes seconded by H.E.Cox.

Block 22, was granted on motion of H.E.Cox seconded by Chas Forbes.
The following petitions for permit to connect with the City Sewer were granted
on motion of H.E.Cox seconded by John Chapelt :
Archie Kinsman -.Kentucky Avenue between 1st and 2d Streets,
Grove Street between Higuera and I,Ionterey Street.

pplication was received from J.H.Logan for permittto remove a house from lot 6
Block 97 to lot 4 Block 50. It was moved by H.B.Cox and seconded by C.I:I.Carpenter that
the application be granted. Discussion arose as to whether the application should be
referred for investigation and report.- It was moved by Chas Forbes and seconded by
C.I:I.Carpenter.to amend -the motion with the provision that the application be referred to t
Commissioner of Public Vlorks with power to act.
Ayes : C.M.Carpenter, H.3.Cox9 -Chas Forbes.
Noes : John Chapek , L.F.Sinsheimer.

The Santa Maria Gas Co was permitted to cut pavement at the intersection of Osos
and Church Streets, on motion of H.E.Cox seconded by Chas Forbes , with the provision that
the work be done under the supervision of the City -Engineer,
on motion of H.E.Cox seconded by Chas Forbes the applications of the Gold Dragon
1122 Morro Street, for license for Cigars Sideline, and of Alex Eiller and D. Zentoe for
license for Restaurant at 856.1.onterey Street, were referred to the.Commissioner of Public
Health and Safety for investigation and report to the Council.
The petition of the Ellison - ,lhite Chautauqua Committee for permit to erect
the necessary tents and equipment on Mitchell Lot for the Chautauqua meetings, I -Tay 17th to
23d inclusive, was granted on motion of C.H.Carpenter seconded by H.E.Cox.
The petition of I.G.& V.G.Satrang for transfer of license for Merchandise( Hills
Bazaar) to J.!-',.,.Fisher was granted on motion of C.I.I.Carpenter seconded by Chas Forbes.
C.L.Slusher petitioned the Council to grade to the official grade,that part of
Grove Street between Peach Street and Y -array Avenue, and Hillerest Place between Grove Stre
and Park Street , at cost,to - himself . - It was movedby Chas Forbes and seconded by
H.E.Cox that the petition be, granted and the work done by the City. Motion carried.
Three applications of Foster Kleiser Company for permit to erect sign Boards
were referred to':the Commissioner of Public Health and- Safety for report to the Council.
The reports of the City'Clerk and City Treasurer for the month ending March 31st
were received and ordered filed on motion of Chas Forbes seconded by John Chapek.
Letter from John R.Berryman, Jr. relative to advantages of uniform Traffic Cont
was ordered filed - to be taken up when traffic Ordinance is considered.
Petition of A.E.Ruda for bridge was again continued.
Petition of R.Bassi for permit to remove tree stumps, granted on motion of
C:LZ. Carl) enter seconded by Chas. Forbes, as was also, the petition of 17.O.Cosby for permit, t
place.e sign board at Marsh and Higuere Streets ( Hathews Property). . '
Application of midland Counties Public Service Corporation Ido. 126 for permit to
do certain work on Santa %osa Street was withdrawn.
On favorable report and motion of•C.I;I.Caapenter seconded by Chas - Forbes,

F.M.Sakata and Y. Watanabe were granted license for Garage at 160 Higuera Street.
Meat dealers and others interested in the proposed meat inspection Ordinance
were present and discussed the matter with the Council. City Attorney read draft of
the proposed Ordinance. No final action was reached City Attorney to re draft
Ordinance and present at.the next meeting.
On motion of H.E.Coa seconded by C.M.Carpenter the City Clerk was authorized
and directed to can a certain Tax Sale on property assessed in the- name•of. Earl.S.Henry
1925 - 1926 , Tax Sale Book No. 4 Page 183.
On motion of-Chas Forbes seconded by John Chapek the meeting adjourned.
