City Council met in regular session - T.Ia!-or L.F.Sinsheimer presiding.
Present : Chas Forbes, Z.J.Defosset, H.E.Coy, John Chapek, L•.P, Sinsheimer.

The minutes of august 1st and 8th were read and approved as read on motion of
H.E.Cox seconded by L.J.Defosset.
On motion of HE.E.Cox seconded by John Chapek the following applications for

Chas B. Fox - Temporary Residence lot 4 Block 4 Southside Addn Cost 50100
A.S,Domingos - Rebuild Garare lot 5 Block 6 Cost 100.00
A.T.Souza - Rebuild Garage lots 33 & 34 Block 25 Cost 100.00
V.I.IT.Rockwell - Ii•o alter Store ?ront (Call Building ) Block 14 Cost 300.00
Applications of C.A.Ballard for license for Soft Drinks and Cigars Sideline at
1228 Hi�zucra Street ( `';inter Garden ) were referred to the Commissioner of Public Health
and Safety for report to the Council on motion of H.E.Cox seconded by John Chapek.
The Kerchandising Bond of C.J.Bassi and O.W.Birra, Surety E.E. u-rriss, and of
m rs. D.Eudson , Surety A.P.Hathway, were received , and on motion of H.E.Cox seconded by
Z.J.Defosset the said Bonds were approved and the ;sureties accepted.
The application of the Santa I,-'aria Gas Company for permit to open trench to
renevr gas pipes,prior to paving on Higuera Street between Iiipomo and South Streets, was
granted on motion of .13.Cox seconded by Z•.J.Defosset with the provision that the work be
done under the supervision of the City Engineer.
Petition of J.R.Jackson for permit to place a sign at 438 Higaera Street :as
referred to the Conllissioner of Public Health and Safety for report to the Council on motic
of H.E.Cox seconded by John Chapek.
Merchandising Bond of Barney Ruben, Surety Paul Sada, was ordered caneclled ,
on motion of H.E.Cox seconded by L.J.Defosset.

brought up. It °:as moved by H.D.Cox , seconded :by'L.J.Defosset :Mnd carried that the
petition be :'ranted the City Sttorney to iJreseilt tb Lhe Council for formal action, a
'.esolution embodying formal qualifications to safeguard the City.
