Approved this day of Ilayor City Clerk City Hall, Monday, January 16th 1928 - 7 :36 P.M* City Council met in regular session - Mayor L.F.Sinsheimer presiding. Present : CIEs Forbes, L.J.Defosset,H.E.Cox,John Chapek,L.F.Sinsheimer. Absent : None. The minutes of January 3d and 9th were read and approved as read on motion of 1.J.Defosset seconded by H.E.Cox, On motion of H.E.Cox seconded by John Chapek the following applications for permit to build were grahted: is Bishop of I,Ion Mausoleum Harford Addn C.H.Kamm - Store Room lot 2 Block 87 M.V.Tract IJ.E Cost $ 329000.00 Cost 900000 - Residence & Garage lot 9 Block 4 Southside Addn Cost 19200.00 - Temporary Residence Block 1 Hathway Addn Cost 300000 Isola - Repairs to Garage Block 66 Mission Orchard Tr Cost 60.00 The petition of J.11.1-;ilson for permit to remove a residence from Lot 24 .Block 3 Bride Tract to the Northerly 50 ft of Lot 14 , same Block , was granted on motion of ohn Chapek seconded by L.J.Defosset. On motionIof H.E.Cox seconded by Chas Forbes the following applications for permit o lay sidewalk and curbing were granted: rald - 90 ft full width sidewalk on the east side Osos Street between Marsh Street and Pacific Street; and 45 ft of 5 ft park sidewalk on the north side of Pacific Street between Osos and Santa Rosa Streetq otti - 60 ft full width sidewalk on the East side Osos Street between Marsh and Pacific Street. The application o-T I.S.Hamilton for permit to connect 22 units of the Aut -o -tel at guera and French Streets, to the main p1blic sewer on Higuera Street, was granted on motion H.E.Cox seconded by Chas Forbes with the provision that the connections be not less than ve inch, and that the work be done under the supervision of the City Engineer. On motion of H.E.Cox seconded by Chas Forbes the application of D.Watkins for permit o connect with sewer on Kentucky Avenue between 2d and 3d Streets was granted, while the pplications of J.E.Duel and H.C.Hathway for permit for sewer co nnection on Johnson Street etween 1st and 2d Streets were laid over until the new sewer line has been.formally accepted y the City. The Merchandise Bond of the Universal Auto Patts Co.( A.F.Maha), Surety E.E.Burriss Iwas received and on motion of Chas Forbes seconded by L.J.Defosset the Surety was accepted and Bond approved. 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 11 On motion of H.E.Cox seconded by Chas Forbes the following applications for license referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for report to the Council: esa- Soft Drinks, Cigars Sideline & Pool Tables , Monterey Street, Cigars Sideline at 761 Palm Street On motion of H.E.Cox seconded by John Chapek the following matters were referred o the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for report to the Council: Application of Arthur S. Heineman for sign board , Block 61 ; Application of Pant and Boot. for permit to place a Barber Pole at 716 Higuera Street, and the transfer of licenses of A.E.Brooking to A.Bolla and Frank Gnesa. On motion of Chas Forbes seconded by H.E.Cox it was ordered that the policy with the State Cumpensation Insurance Fund , covering City Employees, be renewed. The Merchandising Bond of H.Euden secured by certified check in the amount of 200.00 was ordered cancelled and the certified check ordered returned, the principal hatring fulfilled obligation under said Bond. J License No. 1139 issued to Doses A. Lubrin for Pool Table, Palm Street, was ordered ancelled,to clear record,on motion of L.J.Defosset seconded by Chas Forbes. The reports of the City Treasurer.f.or the month of November and those of the ity Collector, Police Judge and Pound Master for the month of December were received and ordere iled on motion of John Chapek seconded by Chas Forbes. A communication from L.G.Fitzsimmons, Division Supt of Plant, of the Pacific Tele- and Telegraph Company, in re pole reconstruction, was read and on motion of L.J.Defosset econded by John Chapek the same was referred to the City Engineer for checking and report to Council, The City Attorney was directed to draft a net Ordinance relative to the breeding of within the City Limits. The applications of Moses A. Lubrin for license for Pool Tables at 761 Palm Street, and of B.D.Griffin for license for Cigars Sideline,LMorro Street, were granted on motion of L.J.Defosset seconded by John Chapek, Resolution No. 248 ( New Series:) A resolution declaring certain streets and parts of Streets to be and constitute Boulevards, was introduced, passed and adopted on motion of L.J.Defosset seconded by Chas Forbes by the following vote: s : Chas Forbes, L.J.Defosset, H.E.Cox, John Chapek, L.F.Sinsheimer. oes : None. sent : None.
