City Hall, Monday, March 5th 1928 - 7 :30 P.M.
City Council met in regular session - Mayor L.F.Sinsheimer presiding.
Present : Chas Forbes, L.J.Defosset, H.E.Cox, L.F.Sinsheimer,
Absent : John Chapek.
The minutes of February 20th and 27th were read and approved as read on motion
of L.J.Defosset seconded by Chas Forbes.
The following applications for permit to build were granted on motion of H.E.Cox
seconded by L.J.Defosset:
Marko.Mirko - Addition to Garage lot 25 Block 12 Weills Addn Cost 85.00
Mrs. T. Urushima - Addn to building Block 149 Harford Addn Cost 800000
The application of Mary Agnes O'Reilly for permit to build a Service Station,
Store and Cottages on lot A Phillips Addition, junction of Monterey Street -and Murray Avenue,
was referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for investigation and report to
Council on- motion of Chas Forbes seconded by H.E.Cox.
On motion of H.E.Cox seconded by Chas Forbes the following applications for permit
to connect with the City Sewer were granted :
John C. Walsh - Nipomo Street between BtLehnn• Street and, Islay Street,.
Edwin Pouch - Leff Street between Santa Rosa Street and Toro Streets
Thos O'Toole - Mitchell Drive between Teilbrook and Chandler Street.
The petition of G.W.Long for permit to plant trees in front of his property at
546 Higuera Street was referred to the Commissioner of Public Works for investigation and rep
to the Council.

On motion of.Chas Forbes seconded by H.E.Cox the Merchandising Bond of Sherman,
Clay Company in the amount of $ 200.00, secured by a certified check for the said amount, was
ordered cancelled and the certified check ordered returned, the principal having fulfilled
obligation under said Bond.
The reports of the City Collector and Police Judge for the month of February were
received, and ordered filed, on motion of Chas Forbes seconded by L.J.Defosset.
67oN,Eockwell of the Rockwell Sign Company and C.E.Freeman of the Freeman Sign
Service appeared in support of their petition in re license for the business of Sign painting.
D�atter discussed and on motion of L.J.Defosset seconded by H.E.Cox the City Attorney was
directed to prepare a draft of an Ordinance covering the matter and present to the Council at
the next meeting. The motion carried.
A numerously signed- petition from the Radio.Club was received, also a draft of an
'
Ordinance requesting the appointment of an Inspector and the placing of a ban on the use of
electrical appliances and apparatus at certain hours, which interfere with radio reception.
Matter discussed and the Commissioner-of Public Health and Safety directed to take the matter
up with the Radio Club; City Attorney to obtain like Ordinances from other Cities ; City Clerk
directed to keep petition on file.

Claims against the City for the month-of-February were ordered paid subject to the
pproval of the heads of the respective departments, on motion of Chas Forbes seconded by
Z.J.Defosset.
The City Engineer was directed to leave in the office of the City Clerk, Maps and
profiles
for Street grades proposed to be established on certain Streets, for the inspection
by
the Council. City Attorney to fufmish the Council with a draft of a grade Ordinance for
I
the
next meeting.
