Ordinance No..128 ( New Series ). An Ordinance amending Ordinance.No. 76(New Series)
by adding.a new Section to be numbered 37 1/2 , providing a license for painting,.manufacturingl
or producing signs, was introduced, and passed to print on motion 'of John Chapek seconded by
L.J.Defosset by the following vote:
Ayes : Chas F'orbes,.L.J.Defosset, H.L.Cox,.John Chapek , L.F.Sinsheimer.
Noes : None.
Absent : None:.
On motion of Chas Forbes seconded by John Chapek the meeting.adjourned.

The minutes.of March 5th and 12th were read and approved as.read on motion of
Chas Forbes seconded by H.E.Cox.
The following applications for permit to build were granted on motion of H.E.Cox
seconded by John Chapek:
.Kilbern - Residence pt lots 1 & 2 Block 125 Murray & Church Addn Cost $ 10100.00
A.Isola - Garage pt lots 4 & 5 Block 16 Cost 50.00
On-motion of H.3,Cox seconded by Chas Forbes the following applications for permit
lay sidewalk and curbing were granted :
50 ft full width sidewalk on the East side.of Morro Street between Marsh Street
and Pacific Street.
.11. Gragg - 35 ft curbing and gupter on the west side of Broad Street between Islay Street
and Leff Street.
The petition.of Armand P. Motto - Ros for transfer of license for Taxicab at 956
Monterey Street to Harris Miller , the petition of C.E.Freeman.for permit to hang a sign for tl
Union Hardware and Plumbing Cc at 725 Higuera Street, and the applications for the regular
quarterly licenses, were referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for report
to the Council mn motion of H.E.Cox seconded by John Chapek.

The reports of the Police Judge for the month of Larch and those of the Pound.-.
Master for the months of February and 1darch were received and ordered filed on motion of
L.J.Defosset seconded by H.E,.Cox.
The petition of F.Marion.Smith for permit to remove approximately 16 ft of railing
from the Liarsh Street Bridge was referred to the Coix.iissioner of Public Works and the Commissic
er of Supplies with power to act, on motion of Chas Forbes seconded by John Chapek..
On motion.iof H. ;.Cox seconded by Chas Forbes the application of F.1.:arion Smith for
permit to connect with the Sewer on Lilarsh Street was granted, the work to be done under the
supervision of the City Engineer,
Petition of E.:.Burriss for permit to hang an Electric Sign at Burriss Tire Co.,
757 I:arsh Street , was granted on motion of L.J.Defosset seconded by Chas Forbes, with the
usual provisions.
On motion of L.J.Defosset seconded by H.L.Cox the following applications for license
were granted :

Applications of Li.F.Finol for license for lodging douse at 834 Palm Street, and
estaurant at 846 Palm Street were again laid over.
Commissioner of Public Works , H.r.Cox, reported favorable on application No. 143
ididland Counties Public Service Corpn for certain work to be done on Peach Street between
Santa Rosa Street and Osos Street, and on his motion seconded by John Chapek the application
was ordered granted,
The ap- lication of A.E.LIallagh for refund of tax ivas laid over for one week, as was
also the petition of F.D.Silvia, et al:, for the grading and graveling of Kentucky Street
and Second Streets.
In a communication City Engineer 1.1iI.I:1-oore advised the Council that the Contract of
W.H.Porter for " Division ii Sewers " was completed on the 27th day of February,1928 ; That the
period of 35 days from the completion of the work having expired, and the work having been
completed to the satisfaction of the .Engineering Department, he recommended that final
acceptance of the work under the said contract be made. It was then moved by H.E.Cox and
seconded by Chas Forbes that Sewers constructed by W.H.Porter known as " Division N Sewers 7
be accepted and a Warrant be drawn for the balance due.
In re application of Diary Agnes O'Reilly for permit to build : Discussion.
It was moved by L.J.Defosset and seconded by Liayor L.F.Sinsheimer that the application of
Llary Agnes O'Reilly for permit to construct a Service Station, 2 - 280 gal Storage tanks, six
ottages, six garages and one double tbllet on Block 37 Phillips Syndicate Addition, in
ecordance with application as filed in the.office of the City Clerk on 11arch 19th 1928, be deni

On motion of Chas Forbes seconded by L.J.Defosset the petitions of the Southern
ific Company and of Pete Bachino for closing and abandoning for Street purposes, a certain
ortion of Rachel Street as shown on blue print submitted, was referred to the City Engineer
the City Attorney for investigation and report to the Council.
