The petition of Armand P.Motto -3os for transfer of license for Taxicab to Harris Miller was granted on motion of L.J.Defosset seconded by H.E.Cox. The petitions of S.Takayama, 198 Higuera Street; I.=rs. T.Urushima, 156 Higuera Street, and Y Watanabe, 198 Higuera Street for permit to hang signs, were granted on motion of L.J. Befosset seconded by H.E.Cox. The City Engineer was directed to have plans and data relative to the improvement oi' Upper Monterey Street ready for the Council at the next meeting. Present : Chas Forbes, L.J.Defosset, H.E.Cox, John Chapek, L.F.Sinsheimer. Absent : Uone. In the absence of Callie 11. John, City Clerk, Llayor L.F.Sinsheimer requested City Attorney Miles A. Fitzgerald to take the minutes of the meeting. On motion of H.E.Cox seconded by L.J.Defosset the application of Frank A. Gehring for permit to lay 38.85 ft of full width sidewalk and curbing, retaining wall and driver-lay on the east side of Garden Street between Buchon Street and Islay Street was granted. The following applications for permit to build were granted on motion of n.B.Cox seconded by John Chapek : IhIrs.. T..Urushima - Soft Drink Place Block 149 Harford Addn Cost ; 500.00 H.B.Anderson - Addn to Garage lot 2 Block 4 Cost 35.00 The application of ,Fdm E. Strong for permit to reconstruct Dry Cleaning Boom in lot 6 Block 7 at a cost of approximately $ 2,200.00 was received, and upon the recommendation of the City Engineer and Commissioner John Chapek the application was ordered granted, with the provision that the work and the installation of Llachinery be done under the supervision of the City Engineer. lh(k motion, rrQ&*' The applications of C / T. Farrar for license for potato Chip Factory at 1720 Chorro St, and of T.J.Carleton for license for Skating Fink at Winter Garden, Laiser Building, were referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for investigation and report to the Council on motion of Chas Forbes seconded by H.E.Cox.
