Commissioner of Supplies , John Chapek, reported his findings relative to the purchase of a certain Tractor. Discussion. It was moved by H.B.Cox and seconded by John Chal that the Commissioner of-Supplies enter into negotiations on 'a rental. basis, for a eertEain Tractor for the sum of $ 800.00 1st payment of 300.00 on delivery, and the balance of $ 500.00 to be paid in two equal installments of $ 250.00 each. The motion carried. The matter of the improvement of upper Monterey Street was made special order of business for the next meeting. City Attorney read letter from Railroad Coruaission relative to the matter of Radio interference . A petition Yeas received from property ov:ners on :sigh Street requesting that a 4" Water line be installed on lower High Street, also, that a "'ire Hydrant be installed in the vicinity of the junction of High Street and Buchon Streets. On motion of Chas Forbes seconded by E.E.Cox it was ordered that the work be done as-prayed for. The report of the Pound Llaster for the month of December was received and ordered filed on motion of L.J.Defosset seconded by Chas Forbes. In a communication ;;'arren B. Burch, Engineer, advised the Council- :that the contract for the construction of the Outfall Sewer, from French Street to the new Disposal Plant on the City Farm, has been completed by the Oakland Sevier Construction Co., Contractors, in accordance with the requirements of the Contract and specifications for same, and recommended the acceptance of said work by the City of San Luis Obispo. The matter was laid over for one week. The claim of the Oakland Sevier Construction Company in the amount of $ 545.26 , be Engineers Estimate No. 2 , for the construction of Outfall Sewer from French Street to the new Sewage Disposal Plant on the City Farm, was ordered paid, on motion of H.E.Cox seconded b Chas Forbes. On motion of H.E.Cox seconded by L.J.Defosset the petition of the Golden rule Service Station, Ljonterey Street and Llurray Avenue, for permit to install an additional 550 gallon underground gasoline storage tank was granted. TYn applications of the Santa Earia Gas Company for permit to out pavement on Chorro. Street between Higuera and LIarsh Street; on I:Iarsh Street between Chorro Street and Broad Stree and on I.1arsh Street between Osos Street and LIorro Streets were granted on motion of H.E.Cox seconded by Chas Forbes with the provision that the work be done under the supervision of the City Ellzgineer. The application of Cline's Electric Shop for permit to install an Electric Sign at A.LI.Flallace Cleaning Forks, 403 Higuera Street, was granted on motion of L.J.Defosset seconded by Chas - Forbes, with the usual reservations. In re matter of petition of Anholm Bros., for permit to extend SewercHains in Anholm Addition: Discussion It was moved by H.E.Cox and seconded by Chas Forbes that the matter be referred back to Anholm Bros., Said petitioners to furnish the Council, for their approval, plans and specifications for the contemplated work. The City Engineer made.vr.i.tten report relative to outlay by the City of San Luis Obispi for lowering and changing pipes, etc. in the vicinity of City's Reservoir, made necessary by change in route of State Highway. Estimated Cost Si 100.00 to be borne by State Highway Co:timission. The City Attorney was directed to prepare a. ?esolution authorizing the execution of a Deed from the City of San Luis Obispo to : alie..'.State of ' California,' '..f.or parcels of land near City's Reservoir for Eighway ._purposes. On notion of L.J.Defosset seconded by Chas "'orbes the petition of property owners for the paving of Islay Street was ordered filed with other petitions of similar nature, The petition for a Bridge over Stenner Creek at Eurray :;venue vias left over for report of City Engineer at the next meeting.
