The application of Foster Lleiser Compcny for permit to erect an advertising sign
board on a part of Lots"1 & 2 block 7 hurray and Church Addition (West side of Broad Street
between harsh Street and Pacific Street) was granted on motion of L. J. Defosset seconded by
H. B. Cox., Join Chapek voting negatively.
Application of roster iileiser Company for permit to erect an advertising sign board
in Block 61, 115 feet west of the corner of Iiipomo and Higuera Streets was granted on motion
of L. J. Defosset seconded by Chas. Forbes.
Application of Foster leiser Company for permit to erect an advertising sign board
on Lot 3 Block 75, corner Olive and Santa Rosa Streets, was denied on motion of 1. J. Defosset
seconded by John Chapek.
The matter of unpaid licenses for the April quarter was continued for written report
by the City Attorney.

This being the time and place fixed by the Council for receiving bids for the ex-
jtension and completion of a certain culvert at 3road and Leff Streets in accordance with
published notice - the following is a list of all bids received, which were publicly opened,

It appearing that the bid of A. E. Branch was the - lowest and best bid of all bids
received, it was moved by Chas. Forbes "and seconded by H. E. Cox that the contract for the
construction of the said culvert be awarded to A. E. Branch at the price named in his bid.
The motion carried.
On motion of John Chapek seconded by Chas. Forbes the certified checks which
accompanied the bids of the unsuccessful bidders were ordered returned.

1layor L. F. Sinsheimer presented an agreement signed by P. A. H. i1rata and Irene J.
Carpenter in v;hich, they offered to sell to the City of van Luis Obispo for the consideration
of `650.00 - the SBQ of the Sr,4 of Section 30, Township 30 South, Range 13 Bast, 1:l. D. I.
containing 40 acres. hatter discussed. It was moved by Chas. Forbes and seconded by
John Chapel: that I:rayor L. F. Sinsheimer conclude negotiations with P. A. H. Arata and Irene
J. Carpenter for the purchase of said property for the price hereinabove set forth. The
notion carried.
